Yep. Never seen any 243 in the wild, let alone one with a pinned pump. Utter lack of paint notwithstanding- it's still there on the bottom- and replacement (arched-Pyrex) globe aside, I think I did OK. The stove is a perfectly normal 502, I got it for the box it was in, as I'm sure you've all guessed.

Quick question #1: The pump tube on the 243 has no riser- the NRV would just be sitting in the fuel. Is this normal?

Quick question #2: Do I want to repaint this or just run as is?

Thanks for looking!

My understanding of these pump tubes are that the air tube is built onto it like the later lanterns, therefore the NRV is not standing in fuel like many other manufactures.

And I would personally paint that one. I like seeing a little brass... But not all brass Ã°Å¸ËœÂ

Nice finds👍

Well then. Here's the borescope photo:

The light spot in the lower right of the image is from a flashlight in the pump tube. There's no pump end or riser loose in there. It's like a Petromax pump...

I think I can see on the pump tube where the air tube was soldered on... Wonder what happened to that thing...
