What kind?  The Mexican Red Leg are cool and non-aggressive, but I don't know if they are in the US naturally or just in pet shops.

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

I hate most spiders but I kinda think tarantulas are cool and usually won’t bite unless provoked. I’ve picked up a couple before but must admit I was a little nervous.  Did they meet their demise?

There were male desert tarantulas both of them and no they're still alive. I don't bother spiders if they're outside but if they get inside the house they die a sudden death or get eaten by the dogs or cats whomever gets ahold of them first.

Would like to see pic's of those giant spiders. There was an old B movie about a giant spider that got big enough to attack a house then big enough to attack a town. It took AF jets to kill it.

20190811_214822_compress85.jpg here's one of them the other one looked identical. it's cool to see these tarantulas you don't see them very often. I was reading up on them from a guy from the desert museum last night and it says their most active just after it rained and it rained night before last pretty good. they're probably out hunting for some food.

Looks like a male. The females tend to keep a bigger abdomen.

During the monsoon season up on the rim of Grand Canyon, the tarantulas would come out in the thousands after the afternoon thunderstorms. They could be thick enough on the highway to make driving slippery and treacherous.

I've seen the same species in the mountains of Big Bend NP, TX, too.

Entirely harmless, unless you breath the hairs they shed when disturbed. These hairs are toxic and highly irritating. Don't let the dogs or cats near them--the tarantulas will use their rear legs to scrape the hairs off their abdomens, which the pets will inhale. This can result in an emergency visit to the vet--or worse.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.
Walk a mile in a man's shoes before you criticize him--then you're a mile away, and he has no shoes.

Where I lived for three years in Nevada, I ran across one while out walking the hills.  Neat.

In my part of the world the biggest spiders we encounter are the fishing or dock spiders that we see at the cottage, which can get to be pretty big.  They're harmless to people, but they can sure give you a scare when you come across one, especially the bigger ones.
