Oh, man--there's more signage on that intersection than in all of my town!

We're getting a little smoke up here in NE Oregon, too, but I couldn't find any fires nearby yesterday. I wonder if it's coming from down there? It wouldn't be the first time we got smoke from over a thousand miles away.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

There are several fires in the northern part of Ca. Timm, your probably getting the smoke from one of those. The one Steve posted is now over 20,000 acres 0% contained. Fortunately only 1 home and 2 outbuildings have burnt and no lives have been lost. Pray it stays that way.

how long does one have to be dead before it’s considered archeology  and not grave robbery?

My Daughter was in Yucca Valley in the high desert to the east of the fire. She said there was so much ash in the air last night that it looked like snow coming down.

About ten years ago, our high mountain valley filled with smoke one afternoon, about this time of year. Consulting the various fire data bases, the nearest fires were on the AZ/NV border, and in far Eastern Alaska!

The satellite photo looked like someone had pulled the plug right over the valley--smoke from a thousand-plus miles away was swirling into the valley, from both north and south. So I guess that proves that Wallowa County sucks!
