The Creek Fire in Fresno and Madera counties is burning up my favorite part of the Sierra.  AQI in Oakhurst yesterday was 551.  Good news for my relatives just an hour ago.  They have been evacuated since Monday from their North Fork home.  They get to go home.
We washed a vehicle last night, hoping to make it rain. 😏  No luck.  It was raining ash this morning. 😵

The upper atmosphere smoke has reached northern Illinois. The photo is from this morning. There was some natural haze but supposedly the redness of the sun can be attributed to smoke. At midday the sky has a grayish tone. Nothing heavy, but it's noticeable. It's sad to think about the devastation and heartbreak these fires have caused.

Yes Kevin. We were watching the 5:00 news. They said we could actually see and smell here in Ohio. Crazy stuff.

Finally got a (relatively) clean off shore breeze coming in, so hope you all get some relief soon!

This AM the AQI was near 200.  its now 59!  (was 58 an hour ago)  opened some windows to change the air inside the house..

As of 5:45 PM the AQI is 129 in the East Bay.  The August complex fire in Mendocino is 1,241-square miles with 30% containment.  The SCU and LNU fires are nearly contained, the CZU fires are at 91% containment.

I've heard words I never expected to the last couple of days.  State health officials are advising that folks stay home rather than looking for better air, because "there is no safe air in Oregon"!

AQI is currently 155. Peaked out at around 250 yesterday PM.

A couple of pockets on the coast, but essentially true for Oregon.

CA is beginning to get some relief with off shore winds pushing things east.  But while that helps the coastal areas,  The folks to the east are getting all that crud in their air...

This shows the big map

And this is a fire and smoke map

Air has been so bad here, I stuck my head under water for a couple hours to clear my lungs.  North Complex is around 4 miles away.

We were over 200, close to 300 for a time.  I was wearing a mask inside my house for as much as a I could or stand (slept part of a couple nights with one on)

I can still fell it on my lungs.  Not coughing much, but an iky feeling...  Going to take a while to expel this crud.

The HEPA Room filter/Fan came today.  I credit buying one, anticipating another week of more of this, for getting the sea breeze going the right direction!  (sort of like washing your car to induce rain...)

I was coughing a few nights ago when I went to bed and some the next morning.  Still taking Repo for afternoon or evening walks.

Praying for some rain for all of us...
