I'm sitting here this morning enjoying the quiet and thought about how much i like it here. So post a picture of you favorite view around your house. I know everybody has at least one. Camping pictures don't count.

Nice!!  What a blessing to be surrounded by beauty. I live in a dirt field but I consider it a blessing to be surrounded by the great people of West Texas.

Nothing cool to see here. Just lots of corn fields and strip malls. Hopefully that changes soon. The concrete is closing in around me and I don't like it.

The view out my kitchen window:

[1801105510_3179be23dd_o]

With a 500mm lens, that is! That's Mt Sacajawea, highest peak in the Wallowas at around 9,850'.

A pano of the Wallowa Valley, from a couple of miles from my cabin:

[1859107145_dd25f53934_b]

October, in one of the rare years that the fall colors develop before the frost turn the leaves brown.

Another pano, from the hill just to the south of my cabin:

[1796198564_7398ba8448_b]

My cabin would be about the center of the photo, just behind that line of trees along the rivers.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Here’s a view of our back yard where our younger daughter slept in a tent trailer every summer from the time she was about 3 until she was about 7.   Where the scout troop learned to cook over camp stoves and fires, and to erect a secure shelter using a tarp.   Where one of my sisters-in-law got married.  Where lots of grad students had their graduation party.  Where we had departmental corn feeds every summer.  Off to the right is the rifle range where my older daughter and I obliterate pop cans with BB guns (please don’t tell the City).  And now, it’s where we can weather the pandemic free from cabin fever.

Here's the view from my 2nd story office out into our urban back yard...image a bit fuzzy due to the screen on the window.  There is a shaded 25'x50' deck that leads off the back of the house directly into the back yard.

We have about a dozen bird feeders of all sorts, attracting nearly every bird that calls North Carolina home this time of year.  A five minute rest on the deck at any time of the day will find visits by goldfinches, downy woodpeckers, nuthatches, chicadees, doves, wrens, cardinals, and several other bird types...a constant stream of bird feeder visitors all day long.

When it is not 90+ degrees outside we enjoy the fire pit you can just see in the back of the yard surrounded by chairs...grass a bit brown this time of year but we prefer that to the water bill it would take to keep the grass green.

I like Hot diggity's view. I would post something similar but I have a rule against posting pictures of my weapons. because I don't want people to know what I have. I know a couple of them have made it onto posts here but that's only one or two out of a lot.

Some beautiful views shared.

This is my happy place up north.

Stuck in the city under another lock down till at least the 26th, my heart and soul miss that view.

However this view in the city yesterday did make me happy, after a month of looking I finally managed to convince wifey that a second hand Toyota was better than the new small suv's she was considering.
