Finally got my last big hat to complete my collection last week so I decided it time to do a light up. This will not include the unicorn 216 as much as I would like to have one ðŸ˜„
Starting with my personal favorite lantern...
The L227
IMG_20200623_193839_copy_600x800.jpg  L228
IMG_20200623_193846_copy_600x800.jpg  228B IMG_20200623_193851_copy_600x800.jpg  228C
IMG_20200623_193858_copy_600x800.jpg  228D
IMG_20200623_193906_copy_600x800.jpg  228E my father's birthday lantern
IMG_20200623_193912_copy_600x800.jpg  228F
IMG_20200623_193919_copy_600x800.jpg  228H
IMG_20200623_193925_copy_600x800.jpg  228J
IMG_20200623_193931_copy_600x800.jpg  All together...I could've found a flatter board but this one kind of looks like the lanterns are smiling ðŸ˜‹
IMG_20200623_194639_copy_800x600.jpg  all fired up together
IMG_20200623_193948_copy_800x600.jpg  the yellow colored mantles are either new Peerless or new Coleman. The white mantles are cheapy Chinese test mantles. These have all been FFR'd by me except the 228J which will be done as it doesn't want to start on 1/4 turn. Most expensive was the L227 as I really wanted one and ended up bidding on that popular auction site till I got it. Still not bad tho. Cheapest was the L228 traded a Plumb boy scout hatchet for it. Sorry no sub models as I have not acquired all of those yet. Those yellow ones are expensive ðŸ˜‚

We can never say this hobby is not addicting. I just started this hobby in September/October of last year and this is just a drop in the bucket. Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful evening.

That is a NICE collection, and it appears Phase I is complete!

Endless fun in endless Future Phases could include (in no particular order)
  • A yellow one
  • Blue, red, green Sears (more than one series)
  • The separate shades from early days and MilSpec
Etc.

That is an impressive group photo, especially since you've been collecting for less than a year. And now, someone gave you a list of more big hats to look for!

990BDEE5-903C-4151-8066-88EB57CF64C0.jpeg  Very nice. There is also a 228D with the painted fount, yellow sticker found on the 228c and a solid valve wheel similar to a 242  I have one that is marked B/46.

Definitely! Had to get a vehicle to haul them from the shop to the backyard just to get a decent picture. Also why I left out the sub models and Sears big hats I did have... Not too mention the big hat franks...

Very nice lineup!

I finally obtained an L227 just this last weekend to complete my lineup thru F.   I don't collect anything younger than me, so it will end there with my Birthday lantern. 20200623_233451.jpg

There's a couple in there I would like to upgrade to nicer ones (mainly the slant) but at least I've got one of each. Have several duplicates as well I'll probably move down the road
