I was at one of those indoor antique/garage sale places today during lunch. Sometimes I go there to walk for 20 minutes while getting to look for any new GPA's. I nearly completed the circuit when I saw this on the back shelf in one of the booths:
Craft_Find.jpg
For some reason it looked familiar, so I stopped and walked over to it. The price tag said, "2 pc set $4". So, I picked up the clear glass piece and saw that it was a Coleman 220 globe with the red arched Pyrex over Coleman. I thought to myself, I probably don't need another one of these but for $4 how could I pass it up? So, I finished my walk and go to pay. The woman behind the counter looks at it and says, "oh, that booth is 60% off today, so that'll be $1.73". I paid her two dollars cash, got my change and walked out in disbelief, but the lesson is, you just never know what people are going to do with old Coleman stuff.

So . . . don't just walk by, stop and take a look at whatever caught your eye on that back shelf. It just might be something Coleman.

Is the globe glued to the other piece?

The globe was just sitting loosely on top. And the price tag was on the globe so I know it wasn't misplaced.

What are you going to do with the other piece? What is the other piece, not that it matters. Maybe you can sell the other piece and make a profit!

My wife says that it's a candle holder. While walking up to the counter it crossed my mind to ask the person if I could leave the base there, but I was so surprised at the final price that I just left. Not sure what to do with it. Maybe give it to Goodwill or similar, if she can't find a use for it.

Sounds right. Stick a candle in it and call it good. Holiday spirit ya know.

Any time that I go into a flea market or sale, I walk the whole thing from end to end. When I get to the end, I turn around and do it again in the opposite direction. I've found some really cool stuff on the return trip. Once, I found a beautiful 3-62 burgundy 200a in the box for $20.00. I still to this day haven't found a nicer one.

Great deal!

Scan up high...middle....then low to the floor. Think; "red, nickel, green" and repeat it in your head. Works real well.

I've been using the high, middle, low strategy for years.  Favorite finds have been a $3 252, a coffee can full of #8 shot for $2 and a bunch of lamp and iron pumps that keep showing up in the $4-5 range.  I hot lap lots of my regular stops, but new places get the deep scan.
