I like to test Quicklite generators that I take off new to me lanterns and lamps to see if they're clogged up so I took this OLD R55 that was on the slant I bought today and sure as heck, it's timed 180 out. Lever down no flow, lever up works great. Obviously it isn't just the new ones that slip through QC. It doesn't really affect the operation and of course it's easier to check by just pulling the tip and looking (through a magnifying glass after you reach a certain age) but the problem is WHICH of your Quicklites have that or those cockeyed (or cattywumpus if you prefer) R55('s)?????

The ones with the levers left pointing up.

Yeah that works unless you're one of the sheepdips* that goes to the shelf, pulls one down and starts twirling the cleaner by rote.

By the way it's bent, curved up from the packing nut, I'm thinking someone re-bent the loop so that it works like that.  Typically the wire is straight when exiting the packing nut.  This one is curved.  If it was on a slant style lantern, wouldn't the handle interfere with a globe if it was installed straight out (and in the typical running position, straight down)?  Bending the wire upwards, 180 degrees from the running position would alleviate the interference with the globe, would it not?

It's possible, I've swapped it out for a Q77 but I can put a normal R55 in it this weekend and see if there's clearance issues
