My husband has his dad's old Coleman Propane camp stove and it's missing the regulator hose. The model is 5424 B701. On the inside lid it says approved for use with regulator assembly model 5415 a 5561 and that it can use an adaptor 5415 7901. (but not needed). This is a very old stove, I'm guessing late 70's maybe 80's but in great shape. We gave the hose to someone to fix and /or find a replacement and they have lost it. His dad passed on yrs ago and he is devastated that he won't be able to use it.  Also, On the hose it said Gates 3220 type 1 , 350 psi, 5 mm or 3/16\" it appears to be an older style regulator. I checked with ereplacementparts.com but had no luck so far. Browsed ebay. Is there any way I can find this part or use an adaptor to get a newer version? If anyone has any info would be great.

Any BBQ regulator will work. You may have to get creative for the end that goes into the stove, but like as not, it's 1/8" NPT. Go to the local hardware store BBQ section. This solution would be for using it off a bulk tank.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

I'm not familiar with that stove but most of the Coleman propane stoves with flexible hoses have the same attachment fitting. Do you have an outdoor store nearby that you could take the stove into and try the hoses on your stove?

Your worst case scenario is buying a stove just like it and putting the rest of it away for spare parts

you may be looking in the wrong places :-) i dont know propane stuff very well by part numbers , but all the old regulators looked like whats on this heater . it may be a direct swap to your stove but i cant really confirm that BUT the one i sold to guy to use on his stove came from one of these heaters and wile i never heard back he never complained LOL SO I THINK IT WAS GOOD SALE :-)

the same regulator was used on numerous items .

HAVE A LOOK HERE  it has the little red knob . https://www.ebay.com/c/1725245386

Usually there are 5 propanes for every gas stove here locally and some are always dirt cheap.  Not today!  I've never seen so many gas stoves, or so many overpriced propanes!

I was going to find one cheap/local and offer to get it for you...

Posting a photo of the stove might help us identifing the part you need. I have one prop stove (1988) in the box and none of the numbers that you give match with what I have, but the fitting Doc Coleman shows on the heater looks exactly like what I have.

That's a Canadian model, and I don't know if or what the Coleman U.S. equivalent is. Here is what the hose looks like:

Thanks StanDhal that helps alot. My fitting definatly dont look like that. That looks like it is for the five gallon tanks. My connector is for the small one gal.Tk. but the stoves look very similar

The key for the hose is the connector for the stove.  Coleman used a couple of different ones over the years.  I suspect Nancy's is the smaller brass barrel screw on, based on presumed age..

I purchased a hose like that from another forum last September.
I replaced the o ring and it worked perfectly.
The fitting on the stove end is the key.
I have photos somewhere but could not locate them just now.

That would be great, I’m in Canada FYI, might be pricey if sending out of country but if it would work on this Canadian version might be worth it. Especially if the ones I ordered online come and don’t work.

Still looking for the very rare Canadian regulator. Many thanks to Mike for sending me one, it was a bit too small sadly. I'm going to hang on to it in case I can find some sort of adapter -but in meantime if anyone has a lead that would be great.
