I built this custom lantern hanger for my dads vw bus today. I just used some steel I bought at Lowe's. It cost about 10 dollars but only because I bought more than I needed. I think it came out cool! IMG_20190612_183025_661.jpg

That is cool.  Put a couple of those on the front fenders and you won’t need headlights!

That's cool.  You are always looking for a place to hang a lantern when you are out camping.

Nice! One of the guys here sold some that looked like a little VW man. One arm hooked on the gutter, the other was the lantern holder. I bought one, even though I don't own a bus. Incentive to buy one!

Very well done!

Looks like Dad is doing a complete restore on the ol' bus. Love to see 'em kept on the road.

Here are my VW hangers, made to fit my roof-rack:

The far one I made from rebar, the nearer was made on my pattern from SS rod by a local blacksmith.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Gunhippie, the bus in the garage is a customers in for body and paint my dads bus is a rusty 66 21 window but it is a lot of fun. I really like the look of your hangers, simple and clean !

Tim: If you have a roof rack, here's a better view of how mine are shaped:

Guess which one is my prototype. The bends on mine are to fit the 1 X 2 slats on my rack.
