This one appears early and has the Coleman markings on the Bottom of fount. Also has the simple Coleman on the handle. Has a A marked valve wheel .What years do you guys think? I’m thinking 1919- 1920. Also the cap piece. I’m not sure of the intention of this part other than I’ve seen similar ones on other lamps but don’t see the point for it unless it’s used with a special shade that I’m not aware of? Any help appreciated thanks. FAB95904-F4A3-4E7D-AE47-000310DB1ED9.jpeg  71A265EE-ED1E-40F6-9462-A9F9B99022EB.jpeg

The A stamped valve wheel would indicate 1922. I haven't seen that shade holder before, so I'm of no use there.

I should be more clear the shade holder is a standard shade holder but has the separate piece that sits on the top

I’ve now compared the 3 I have here. One on the left I’ve been told by Terry is 1919-1920. The one on the right is 1926. The one in the middle has a shorter handle like the 1926 and has a similar construction to it. So 1922ish might make sense being that it has the simple generic Coleman markings on the handle like the older one but the quick lite stampings underneath the fount like the 1926. But I know nothing of the shade cap thing. 1ACC2A55-FB03-4110-8060-43CB2E899DFF.jpeg

Really need to see the bottom and what is marked on the air tube? ie soldered pick up with hex? Pantent date and or British mark?

I believe early CQ have a shorter fount and longer handle. How tall is the handle?

thank you
Kevin
I frighten easily!

My current shade is Coleman!!

To me a lamp without a shade is creepy!

It appears to be old and new construction. Like a transitioning piece from the late teens to the early 20s.  I’ll have to clean but I’m pretty sure it has the patent on itC6072C91-71EC-4A46-8241-29A28F2ACC84.jpeg

One of my CQ's has that combination, unfortunately, it has a replaced valve wheel (plastic), or possibly a replaced burner.
