I've acquired two lanterns exactly like this recently but had a question about the properness of the fount. I think I recall reading about hex bung being 1925 or thereabouts. Both hex-bunged founts in my possession are undated. Are these proper for later production Air-O lanterns (circa early 1922)? If not, what do they belong with? Many thanks in advance for the input. It was my understanding that the hex bung started around '22 and was used up until late '25.  All your photos look like my latest Air-O and I'm calling it a '22.  Did yours have the solid ball nut and only the US Patent date on the air tube?

One patent date on both and solid ball nut on one (one is MIA). I have 4 lanterns from 1925 (June, August x2, & October), and none have the hex bung. I thought the earliest marked fount was something like September of 1924 and was curious about the timeline of the unmarked hex bunged founts. Maybe 22, 23, and the early part of 24?
