I found this electric Coleman lamp post lantern at a local antique shop and knew right away, where it would wind up...

Lantern base has a photocell on one side and a 3 prong outlet, on another, I plugged in immediately at the shop and realized my first job was to replace defective photocell..

Original photocell had mounting holes that lined up to holes in the base of lantern so I removed innards and used original housing...

I cut back panel to allow new photocells wires to exit. I also filled voids with silicone, around case and photocell, for a waterproof seal..

We entertain in our backyard campground often but I always struggle for light when grilling,..

But not anymore, as I ran 50ft of underground, 12 gauge line and found a lamp post online and off to the races I went. Light comes on when sun is low and outlet is wired direct for an extra power supply, without running a cord across the lawn...

Not restored yet but needed some extra work space on my bench. Planning on finishing up before the temps drop but until then, I will appreciate the light it gives off...

One of my cooler finds this year, that completed a much needed space, in my backyard. Thanks for l@@king,,,campinut...

You did a good job getting that all set up. It's retro style suits it's location. Well done!.

Way sweet layout.
