I was able to buy a considerable selection of NOS Coleman parts recently it contained various check valves. Some had rubber gaskets and some did not, My question is did some lanterns require gaskets while others did not, or maybe different devises did, stoves, lamp, etc? I don't think that i have ever taken a lantern apart that had a gasket on it. I rarely if ever use gaskets on check valves.  Your input is appreciated.

Only ones I've ever noticed with the o ring was new replacements... They also have the smaller air stem. I don't believe the o ring is necessary, just an added precaution maybe? I'm sure others will chime in as well.

I'm  thinking the gaskets came in to play sometime after the schrader valve lanterns.
