did these have the 20 holes in the bottom of the burner frame after the early ones? i have 2 one with the ceramic burner cap and one without but they both have frames without the holes.

Steve, it looks like part way through the run the cheese-grater holes went away. For example, my 5-‘56 does not have the holes.

In addition to Greg’s post, I’ve also read somewhere else here that the holes came back later in the production. Hopefully someone can confirm the dates.

They were solid in the late '50's. not sure when they (the holes) came back but the new ones had long bail tubes and multiple lighting holes.
