Bumpkin 95
I thought this would make  a interesting pair. The 228 C is an A47. I have had it for about 9 months. And this 228D I just found on the big auction site it is a B 46. I had to check the Coleman book and there it was a B46 D model. The valve wheel in the book is different so I guess mine is slightly later or a replacement. I hope to do the fettle this weekend. And fix the clicking on the E block/ burner. And I need to get a proper fuel cap and maybe a globe. But otherwise it is in great shape. And any possible information on why Coleman did this might be fun as well. Thanks for looking.79C8C979-71DB-4F48-841E-9B67F9C289AE.jpeg  01DFAC47-53E6-4181-B9F4-55AA8B1FCF51.jpeg  7570DDFF-5A21-4FE3-8A81-8C49D18A4EFF.jpeg

I like them. Is the C the one with the screw in pump I'm assuming? Did not realize the D series started that early.

Yup my C has the screw in pump. The D has the 2 screws. The only thing I can figure is they Had left over C parts so the kept making founts until they were gone. The only thing I can’t figure is most of those parts are the same as the D. So I am really hoping  for a better reason to come along.

One thing I've learned about Coleman... Nothing... What they did had no rhyme or reason ðŸ˜ kind of like me probably why I like them so much.. As many others as well

I can only assume that they started production of the D while they still had C parts left over that were not compatible.

Thanks Toby. I found this the easy way but I think I did okay. I was the only bidder which helps. I definitely need to add more nickel to my collection. Two just ain’t enough 😁

Nice D!

IIRC, it should have a cast-on valve wheel.

As for the overlap, both the 327 and 427 Quicklites were made concurrently with the 220/228B. In the case of the 427, it was made for a decade after the 220B was released.

Thanks for the info Timm. I seen that the early ones typically have that kind of wheel I may add one to cart on my next OCP order.
