On some days in some places, it doesn't take much to start your day off right.

Great way to start the day.  A cup of coffee with a view!  Looks like prime moose country.

We got back home (NC) Sunday but enjoyed a month roaming around out your way (AZ, CO, ID, MT. NM, NV and WY) and can't wait to return.  I'd been to Vegas and Reno for work stuff but this was my first chance to get outside.  Beautiful State and we couldn't believe how green everything was.

We came across this little Episcopal Church (The Chapel of the Transfiguration) in Grand Teton National Park.  I can't decide if the minister here has the easiest or the toughest job of all clergy.  It would be hard for anyone to look out that picture window behind the pulpit and not believe in something but then what kind of sermon could compete with that view.

That’s an iconic picture of the alter and the Grand. Everyone that steps in side the chapel takes the same picture.  And it never gets old!

I went to HS in Nevada, surprisingly has many fishing spots.   That's where I started backpacking in the early 70's out of Elko.
Duane
Duane-All seasons, year round backpacker and camper.  So many stoves and lanterns, who's counting.

Wish I'd known you were going to be out here in Arizona we may have been able to meet up and swap some stories. I lived in the Carson Valley and Smith Valley area for years

Thanks for the great pictures Al, the chapel is new to me. No doubt a double edged sword for any minister, a testing ground for ability.

Thanks for the kind words folks, I hope each of you have the opportunity to spend time in this beautiful land we all share.

Shawn, I have a special attachment to southern AZ having spent fifteen months there in 69-70 as a buck sergeant with STRATCOM and return often.  I’ll give you a heads up the next time and would love to swap some stories.  You ever spend any time at  Lejeune or a cherry Point?

Great Basin National Park Is one of our stops when we head out west that way or on the way back. Love that place. So peaceful. Sometimes I wish I could afford to live in Northern NV again.

I was at camp lejeune for 6 years with force recon way back in the dim dark past! And i would love to live in nevada again but it's getting to be to much like Calif. The way the laws aregetting to be and the economy still sucks there. Too unstable for my taste.

Looks like a nice time with beautiful views, Al; I'm envious...thanks for the extra pictures of the chapel, especially the view from inside.
