I hate going to flea markets any more!  I dont hate them any less either, apparently...

There I was minding my own business, having just come from having a nice small town local breakfast.  My beaufiful wife has the bright idea to visit a local flea market.  I should have seen the stamping on the tank...

One booth has what appears to be the left-overs of an estate sale, strewn accross six tables with extra piled up under and around the tables.  When there it was...

Id sort of had my eye out for another steel stove stand to hold a 48qt Coleman cooler I got as a Christmas gift from my Daughter's beau.  There it was nestled between a half dozen or so suitcase stoves.  Some 425s, a 413D two 3-burners and this guy with no marings but appeared to be a 413, but with a cast iron manifold.  No legs and the latch didnt seem to keep it closed.  Both the high stand and stove were marked $10 ea.

I planned to offer $5-$6 for the stand, holding in the excitement one feels when fishing and your rod tip jerks from a solid tug on the line.

I non-challontly moved aside the stand to feign interest in the stove it sat upon, only to pleasantly discover the cast-iron manifold it contained.  As I started to move away, under the scrutiny of the seller and acting like I was going to leave, he said "if you buy a stove, I will throw in the stand free."  Like a large mouth bass, I took the bait.  Stopped in my tracks mid-step and picked up both the stove and stand like it was the last roll of tp on the shelf during the early months of the Kung-flu.  He knew he had me... 🙁

I gave him $10, too ashamed to try to haggle and we both smiled know smiles as we parted ways.  Me thinking I just made a great deal, him thinking..."another sucker, Marge pull out another stand the fishing is good here..."

Now I gotta clear off my work bench and start cleaning another darn stove! Grrr-in!  Will post more pics when its done... sigh.

P.S.  Does anyone know where I can source a set of 413B flip up legs?

They look the same in "The Book".  This stove measures 12 5/8" front to back.  The book says 13 3/8", but that may include the legs.  The Book says the length and height are spot on with what this stove measures.  I dont see measurements for the 413C, but the description says the differences are in the manifold and stamping, so Im betting they will work.  PM me with price and method, I will try them.

Flammable liquids, open flame, what could go wrong?

My wife realized her mistake when I headed for the booth in question...

Looks like a fair deal to both parties.  Get your elbow grease ready.  That one is gonna require a gallon or more.
