Had hopes of test driving the Akron 92 this evening by attaching to CQ fount.  Ooops - it has different threads than CQ.  Time to regroup!!

Near as I can tell - CQ's have Pipe threads (1/4" NPT?) and Akron is (I think) "normal" threads.

Can someone confirm threads for the Akron ?

Hot Diggity
My memory is fuzzy and I need sleep, but on my Akron/CQ I seem to remember running the standard tapered pipe tap deeper into the adapter to create the right fit for the Akron threads.  Lots of cutting oil and patience was required.

Went to Ace this morning to try and match threads.  No luck.  Goal was to figure out an adaptor from 1/8" NPT to the Akron thread.  Soooooo - anyone know rhe Akron theads?  Appear to be 7/16×"not stabdard"

You may want to PM Deanofid. He has done more machining on old lantern threads than anyone I know.

Well - took a few close-ups pics.  The Akron does have tapered threads, just not as aggressive as 1/8" NPT

First two pics are Akron, others are CQ and a Turban Fount

Need to read up on Pipe threads (some more/again)
