Sealed the stress cracks on this fount last Spring with POR-15, only ran it once with CF, using the correct setup which I moved to a good fount.  Been itching to try kero, but can't find parts to set it up correctly.  I keep checking my lamp parts I got at the Stricker Auction, so tonight, things clicked.  Using a figure 8 and a few extra valves, got this set up with a burner.  Whoop, whoop.  Had to check for air leaks a couple times before fixing the two leaks.  Not super bright, swapped out a genny tip off a new TK66 to use on a genny that was long enough.  After a preheat, took right off.  Let it run 15 minutes maybe, did notice black spots on the mantles, so wonder if the genny wasn't staying hot enough to vaporize the kero.  Just playing around to take my mind off the nearby fire.  Had to borrow a complete plug off another lamp as one plug I had that I bought a stem for were different.

That's nice, Duane, looks pretty bright in the last picture.  Maybe the gen. isn't staying hot enough without a globe to contain the heat.  Interesting lamp; looks like the makings of a frankie.

Wow!  A triple valve.  I had a double valve Akron/Coleman Air-o-lite, but that triple is pretty cool!

Have you tried tuning the intake air?  It might like a little less on kerosene.

Thank you, funny, on my 237 two days ago, it ran brighter with the pricker partially engaged.  Thanks for the suggestion, will try again today.  Maybe mount a 355 globe for a bit, will likely break this down again after playing.  Would like to find the proper riser genny or even a riser that I could mount just one valve and make like a AQ.

Why does something look upside down there Duane?  Or is it just the ring that goes above the handle has slid down?

Black spots could also indicate your kerosene is getting old.  I've started running an Amish mix of about 20% CF and have had zero black spot issues since.  The stuff even removes old black spots after a few hours of run time.

The ring was left as I found it, this is a frankie, so it doesn't look as it should, I'm aware of where it should be as I have a couple Air O Lite lamps.  My 237 ran nice the other day on kero, no smell so my kero is still good.

You gave me a great idea to preheat my R55 gen on my table lamp with the Tilley preheating torch
