I hope you guys don’t mind me posting this. After my old GPAs I really enjoy vintage country music. It’s hard to believe this was 1971. Man i’m gettin old.

Conway, Cash, and Coe for me 👍🏻 I enjoy listening to them while working in the shed. Found a old record player system at Goodwill a while back. Nothing like the sounds those old vinyls put out. My favorite is Cash at Folsom prison.

You know Conway has a vertical line in his forehead. I don’t know if he was born with it or if it is a scar. When you get older it tends to be skin cancer, no complaints here because it got rid of a lot of the horizontal wrinkles.
Are there no Loretta Lynn fans here?

Fine country lady indeed. Loved her voice and her hair.

Never got into Loretta or Conway although some of his songs make me laugh from the subject matter.

My problem is when a radio station says they play classic country and don't play anything that came out before Alabama did.

I’m a fan of both too Greg, a family friend Charlie Archer was Conway’s guitar player for several years until his passing, after a break he played steel guitar for Loretta.
My father in law gave guitar lessons for some years to Charlie before his career started.

I was fortunate enough to see George in Topeka, KS a year or so before he passed. He was battling a cold so his voice wasn't perfect, but still a decent show, at least he showed up!

I remember the day Twitty died like it was yesterday. Crazy it was 26 years ago. And Roy Orbison was 31 years ago.

I know every generation says this but country music is nothing like it was then. It’s missing the western part of country and western or something.

Ha, I was 13 years PRE-born! But I do love classic country.
It ain't country unless it mentions trucks, trains, prison, momma...

I think Glen Campbell was one of the most talented guitarists EVER.

Personally not a massive fan of country, but can tolerate it. My wife, on the other hand, is a big closet fan and tends to tune the radio into it when I'm not looking. Now we have DAB+ on the new van I'm sure it will become a staple of the road-trips to come...

The title makes me think of the Earth, Wind and Fire tune After the Love Has Gone.  My stepfather looks exactly like Conway Twitty minus the beautiful hair.

Remembering Patsy Cline's death when I was a boy, she was found by Roger Miller, who had joined the search party to look for his friend.
