IMG_9349[1].jpg  That's Mt Henry.  Is a lookout up there, or what is left of one. I need to get up there one of these days, the fishing always distracts me.

Optimus 81. An adjustable alcohol stove, I love it. Says it will burn 50 minutes on a full tank. We did mac n cheese and tea and coffee water on what little I put in.  Will do a separate post on stove at some point.

We are planning an overnighter this weekend, only a mile+ in, planning on taking some fun food and fun stoves. And coffee, I am not as tough as you.

Yea, life is always good on the mountain!  Looks like another good outing, Keith.  I imagine that lake is a bit cool but I’d be tempted to take a dip and followed by a snooze on a warm rock!

@1hpycmpr, I was not tempted. Not that brave, and was not as warm out as perhaps it looks, the short bursts of sunshine were greatly appreciated.
Maybe later this summer.

Awesome pictures. Coffee is the jumpstart that gets this engine going. Duane must be superhuman or something.  lol

Very nice, Keith, another beautiful place.  I like how the bottom of the lake shows in the first picture.  I hope you can someday go up that hill to see what remains of the lookout; that would be interesting.

More great pics!  Water clarity reminds me of Lake Tahoe West shore. (At least the last time I was there.)

I always love your photos Keith. Thanks for sharing these. As a child our annual family vacation was either out your way to camp and pan for gold or the black hills, SD. I was probably 12 when an old gold panner taught me how to dowse out there, the practice never had panned out well for me(pun intended lol), but he sure made it look fool proof... Good memories.
