Too hot to fettle (111) and definitely too hot to do Duane’s blacksmithing project so I headed for the antique mall. Wife dropped me off and went decorator shopping so I knew I could linger. I really was hoping I wouldn’t find any lanterns or stoves I couldn’t live without as I already have quite a few in the queue.   So this time, I carefully went through every booth, including those with those old revolving jeweler display cabinets. Low and behold I spotted this box.

Got the attendant to open up the cabinet.  Definitely wanted the box for display.  Although A little moisture damage, the other side looks better to my eye based on the graphics.

Looks like a 242 and a 200.  My guess it is early 50’s based on early 200’s found with these T66DL on them.  Best part is what was inside.  Two new T66 DL’s, two new T44 DL’s and one used T66.  One of the new T66’s was missing the pricker but I am sure a citric acid cleaned used one will work fine.   As you can see, DL’s are nickel plated so these will likely end up on shelf queens. All for $20, so a lot cheaper then new ones!

Nice nickels Marty! I count myself lucky as 4 of my 9 Coleman GPA lanterns came with nickel gens. '35 220B, '36 228B, '53 200A and '55 200A.  I have heard that the nickel gens where from the 1950s.

The T66DLs have brass nuts and the T44DLs have nickel nuts. Don't know if that is the norm. I wonder if some were factory installed in the 50's?
