It's a sad day for many of us.  18 years ago, many brave men and women did not go home to their families after a terrible incident in NY City. In their memories, I lit my couple of lanterns. May they all rest in peace, and smile down upon us on this earth!  Somber Cheers. IMG_1228.jpg

Yes, indeed, rest in peace.  True heroes, not the too often loosely used term today.

Austin65uri, I couldn't agree more. I think your pic didn't translate; maybe too large.

My Sons Birthday was yesterday 9/11/11. A thought provoking day for sure. I've watched so many documentaries about that day. He was born on a day of remembrance for sure. Horrible time in history for this Country. One that will have very long lasting effects. A sad day and a day of celebration for me.

thewoodsmatchman, Our oldest daughter was born 4 days after the 9/11 date. We had the conversation over whether or not we wanted a child to arrive on such a day; not that we could actually steer it. Like you say, a sad and happy day rolled into one.

My son's first birthday was on 9/11/01.  I was unsure of the celebration the day of his first birthday but we kept it subdued.

I recall calling my parents telling them to take the baby into the basement!!!!!!!

HwyChef:  Pic is just a link to the Toby Keith video/ song "Brought to You Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue". Opens OK on my laptop.

Bill, just saw that. It didn't load right the first few times.  We have "filters" on the work machines!! But I got it working and the "Red, White & Blue" came across just fine!
