That’s a great looking CL2. Even though they’re newer, I think they are neat  😎

Nice looking CL2, plus you've got the original picket fence globe too!

One question... Is it missing the heat baffle/ globe springs?

Hahaha, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for a red one and one of the military ones. Just haven’t found one for the right price yet.

I have three stoves 🙂.

Looks good, Joseph! I like those globes; easy on the eye, as the mantle glare is reduced.

Nice light up, Joseph!  Always good to have a few adjustable lanterns on hand just in case the night calls for a bit less illumination.

Question, I know, surprise. Lol
I’ve  looked various places, and everyone shows something different, but did the 288 cl2’s have a heat shield?

I think the early ones did not have heat shields, but the later ones did, to prevent damage to a valve part. If I remember correctly, it's recommended to add the heat shield on the early production models. I made a heat shield for my 1985 CL2 with some sheet metal, but you can also buy them from OCP.

The one you have did not come with a heat shield. When the decal changed, that is when the heat shield was added.

You can always purchase a heat shield from our sponsor, oldcolemanparts.com and add it. I do that will most of my CL2's and CL1's.

BTW, Coleman used plastic eccentric's on those early CL1's/CL2's and some melted causing failure. I've owned one that melted. They switched to a pot metal eccentric to solve the issue.
