Looking for help to know what’s been replaced here... I’ve never seen a Corning globe from India. Please let me know your thoughts on age of this globe as I imagine it is certainly not original. Maybe I’m wrong.  71CC7DB0-96C3-4154-9175-A366B6CD707F.jpeg  1E75EE87-DA2C-43D8-8C62-35918B6E8A47.jpeg

Not familiar with that one.  I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I suspect it's a cut down Pyrex glass tube.  If this is actually in your possession, pics of the edges of the globe will confirm or eliminate that idea.

I've seen them before, actually had one too. Mine was 288 size, unfortunately it didn't survive the fall...Mrs. wysiwyg is really hard on glass.

That strips of glass one reminds me of a write-up here on the forum a few years back.   If the same, it's not a globe made that way, but literally strips of glass because the individuals that made them couldn't afford to buy a replacement globe.  I don't know how well they hold up to the heat, but apparently hold up very well for ebay pics.

a few months backs a similar post emerged on Facebook and they are still made in an Asian country, don’t remember which one but they are selling them for under $2 yes, two dollars. Have to dig a bit more to find that FB post.

I've got one of those on a petromax. it's regular window glass held together with tin strips. I've purchased many odd lantern globes and preheat charging bottles from India. Some take over a year to arrive.
the lacquer dipped globes Ditmar used to make are often found in India.
