Picked up my first cast-burner suitcase stove yesterday.
It's the same size as a 425, but the model number is not readable.
Has a copper tank with wing nut cap.

FUN!    417B is same size/shape as 425, but has a standard cap, so maybe (just guessing) a 417?

Of course you do: You wrote it!

Being an old field biologist, I love the layout! Bookmarked.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

After visiting those links and carefully examining the very worn
print on the front of the stove, I've concluded it's likely a Model 2B.
Thanks for your help, gentlemen.

Yup, my biology degree has spilled over into my hobby - it was the only layout that made sense to me!

2B, huh? Pretty cool! So it has an oven??

No, no oven, so maybe a 2G.
It's a 2-somethin'.

Well, any 2-something will have an oven. The 9-series (and others) didn't have an oven. The Field Guide didn't work for you?

Okay, I misread the info on that link.
It must be a 9B because it looks
identical to the 9B on terry-marsh.com.
Pictures won't tell the story because I cant even
read it when I'm looking at it in bright sunlight.
It's just plain illegible.

uh, OK, perhaps a few pics of the stove (not the badge)?  We're fairly good at figuring these out if we could just see the device...
