Here is a picture of my 242C that came in it's original (rain soaked of course) box. I dont think it got used much. Perfect vent. I think the 48 and 11 puts this one at Nov 1948. brent






The second to last picture is before I cleaned it up, it really doesnt have the freckling, the plating is like a mirror. Brent

Odd that it's not painted... my 11 '41 242B and my 5 '45 242C are both painted....

The 242s produced during World War II were painted because nickel was needed for the war effort. After the war, coleman once again nickeled the founts!

Same with the 220/228 series!

I was looking at my Photobucket account, wondering how my son, Ethan Zier, got his Facebook link for comments on my Photobucket account.
Neither of us knows.

Then I was looking at the photobucket picture of my base and noticed the faint 8 after the 4, which I did not see with the naked eye.

So, it is a '48 instead of a '44, I corrected the post above. Brent
