Hello everyone.
Yesterday, I handmade the 242 Junior Mica Chimney. The frame is made of aluminum that is easy to process, not steel. The aluminum plate used was 0.3 mm. It is difficult to fold the Z-fold of the vertical frame neatly. However, since it is an aluminum plate, it was manageable and completed. I lit it for about 3 hours, but there was no problem with the aluminum plate frame. Next time we will create 327 Mica Chimney.

On the right is Fred's mica chimney. On the left is my handmade mica chimney. The Fred mica chimney that I respect is a great craftsmanship. I respect Fred.

Thank you,

“Arigatou Gozaimasu” = Thank you. It took about 3 hours to create this mica chimney. It's small, so it's easy to make. However, it takes a little longer for steel plates.

You lived in Misawa City, Aomori Prefecture. Misawa City has a US military base.

It is far from being an apprentice😅 The work of perfect craftsmanship is very helpful.

Having two or three craftsmen making these will bring broader appeal to the hobby. Domo Arigato for what you bring to others.

It may not be too long before some type of custom mica shade might have to be fabricated to fit a lantern if the glass globes are no longer available. If I ever get around to going to a flea market, I will probably look for an old mica globe fame just to have one to study its design.

Excellent craftsmanship!

Thank you everyone.
The junior mica chimney will be handmade again next time. I plan to handmade the 327 Mica Chimney first. Mysteriously, the 327 original mica chimney has a two-part mica sheet in one window. I also saw a single-sheet mica chimney.
