Saved the sunrise globe for something more deserving. Makes that second hand clicking in water sound every other B I've had does so I guess it's working right ðŸ˜. Thanks for looking

Looks great Toby.  My first real save was a 228B.  It was in a little rougher shape than that one, but it taught me to never overlook what's hiding under a century of dirt and grime.

What is that clicking sound anyway?

I wish I knew. I don't see enough different that could cause it that a C wouldn't...

What's not special about a B?

FWIW, all four of my 220/8Cs also make those odd sounds. Each lantern is a little different, too. Come to think of it, at least one of my 242s makes the noises, but I don't recall which. May be an excuse to light them all up!
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

One of my favorite lanterns.  I usually take one or two on any trip and always with a sunrise globe.  Not rare lanterns but great lanterns.  I will never pass them up, narrow brims, standard or big hats.  You did a great job on bringing out its former glory.

Thanks Marty.
Timm I've got one C that will make this mystery noise... But the only thing about it that is a C is the fount... Everything else is B parts ðŸ˜

I highly recommend them. I've got a few. I prefer quicklites for double mantles, but B's and C's come in a close second.

The slurp seems to be exclusive to my B's and C's with the older style valve. Don't know if anyone will be able to figure out why.

I'm working my way to them, all in good time! FWIW, my 220C is a slurper too. Also need to find its big-hat brother, LOL.

My favorite - put the original globe back on the lantern.  It is a beauty.

Original globe is a green line Coleman.

If I had an original strait line globe it would be on my 228B I display. I have yet to come across one. Have a couple in bulge globes, but no 220/228s

Nice job!
I ran a 228B a couple nights ago. Waited almost an hour for a slurp and it never did. Pretty sure it did before. Oh well.
