I am getting ready to get a 220b and a 228b lantern ready for the iccc Southwest Gathering and I got a couple of questions. I never worked on anything this old yet. I see in Mike's parts catalog that they run different fuel cap whether it's an early or late model and how do you tell an early from a late model?  also are the fuel pump cups the same or are they different from the later model lanterns?
Thanks in advance

Same pump cup, I'm not sure of the transition of the fuel caps but I believe it was very early on. Show them off when you get them.

     How is that lantern porn?
My friends don’t call me “Lantern/lampie Levi”
for nothin’,if they did call me that.

Oh yeah!! I like those B models. Original globes? You may know or maybe not, but the B models main air tube is a two piece and removing the burner doesn't really help when removing the eccentric block. Nice lanterns Shawn ðŸ‘

Very faint Rising Sun on the 228 large bold Coleman lettered globe on the 220 I have no idea if they are original or not.

That's a nice bold colored straightline!! Which would've been original to the B series from 34-on. But I wouldn't throw the sunrise out either ðŸ˜‰

Well looking at some of my lanterns I found the other bold straight line Coleman globe that goes with my 228b. It must have got mixed up and stuck on the wrong Lantern when I moved up to this house last year. we'll have to remedy that.

Here you go Shawn, I forgot about this write up by Larry @coleman54. Definitely a good read. Should explain all the B transitions your looking for.
