I recently fettled a 202 that I found. I thought for sure I would find a date under the grime somewhere but I don't see it. Am I missing something or were some produced with out dates?

It has a nickle generator and a green sunrise globe and a ceramic burner cap. Any ideas? Click image for larger version - Name: 20190702_052804 (2).jpg, Views: 65, Size: 95.17 KB Click image for larger version - Name: 20190702_052833 (2).jpg, Views: 65, Size: 84.89 KB

There is a date but it is covered up by the tin dip on the bottom of the fount. Pretty common on the early ones.

The 202 started in 1954.

I think a member posted a week or so ago that the ceramic burner caps ended in '58? Maybe a search on the site will find it and maybe it's in The Book.

My 8-54, 1-55, 5-55 all have ceramic, but my 2-57 does not.

If a magnet sticks to the bottom it’s 1954. 1/55 was the beginning of the brass bottom. 202 production started 8/54.

Just checked, the bottom IS magnetic. I guess that makes her a 54. I don't suppose there's anyway to tell the month is there?
