The time has come again to start planning for our annual spring gathering!

Plans are to return to Foxfire Riverside Campground in Hartford, TN.

*Update: the date has been decided, May 3rd-5th!

Camping information:

No power no water sites: These sites are where the action is and where the majority will be camping. There is no need to reserve these sites, they are first come first serve. The price is typically $7 per person per night for these sites (confirming with the owner). When you arrive, you can meet with me to check in and pay.

Power/water tent, full hookup, and cottages/cabins: These sites will need to be reserved through the campground. You can reserve from their website or give them a call. https://foxfireriversidecamp.com

More information to come.

How did May win?  I count 2 for April, two for May, and two for either.  Just curious.

"I'll cross post this between the Coleman Collectors Forum and the Due South Coleman Collectors page on Facebook."

People were also voting in the facebook group. 16 total for May and 6 total for April.

Updating the first post of this thread now.

Where I’m a newbie to lantern/stove/etc as well as this site, is this kind of like a swapmeet or camping equipment show? Please forgive my ignorance.

No, reservations are not needed for no power and water tent sites, the same as previous years.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I’m not going to make the gathering after all. I’ll still answer any questions that I can, but it looks like some others will be taking up the mantle for organizing. I hope everyone has a blast this year, and I’ll see you at the next one.

If for some reason there isn’t any spaces available by the time of the event, can one still come by and mingle during the morning and/or afternoon? If so, is there a cost to enter the campgrounds?

Even when we have a very large crowd, we always find room for everyone that wants to tent camp.

Looks like it’ll be a last minute decision for me. If I can attend and can get squeezed in, any recommendations on a tent size? The last time I went camping was 35 years ago. I’ve got a four person sized tent bought used two years ago. If that’s to big, someone let me know.

I’m going to check out the camping section for tips tricks and ideas. I’m really hoping I can make it. Sounds like it’s a really fun event. Hating it took forty years to get into this.

They is plenty of space to set up tents. Many People have the large cabin style tents and they work out fine. We normally have a 10 person tent and a couple 12x12 canopies set up on our site with no problems.

I would definitely try to bring an EZ-UP canopy since it's been known to rain on us most years. But that never ruins the good time!

Ed, you might want to start a new thread in this category with your wants and sales for the SE Gathering.  Like you said, it is only a month away.

I will be hanging precariously down near the river again as well.  Even have some new stuff.  I'm working my way up to fancy!
Even talked my brother into hanging again too.  His wife was so impressed by the tent the MI folks brought last year that she went out and got one for herself.  That might have had something to do with the "two man" tent that I let her use last year.  Tent size claims are kind of optimistic. We've all been looking forward to this trip since the last one.
Gerald will have a, literal, trailer full of lanterns and stuff.  I'm not sure even he knows what all will be hidden within it's depths, and God only knows what new and interesting  "projects" Don will unveil!
It's gonna be a good time like always.

Gonna try to spend a couple extra days, but worst case scenario thursday arrival!
There will be a for sale/trade table on my site this year, and cold beverages in the cooler as always.
With a little help, I will be doing my best to put together the pot luck/cookoff plans, and of course dont forget the rat rod contest!
Stay tuned- will start throwing out posts here and on the face book shortly and we'll get our heads together for the eats.

Just over 2 weeks away folks! I took on the job of helping out again and have been quite the slack ass thus far. Apologies ahead of time, but with 2 weeks to go, Im on the ball haha.
Just a reminder- we will be having a raf fle as always, so if you have any items to donate, bring em! I will work with the guys on a good location to set everything up in the meantime.  Also- dont forget the beater lantern contest- I will try to organize it a little better than normal haha.
As of right now, the plans would be to do the raf fle before dinner on Saturday, and the beater contest at lightup time if that sounds good to everyone.
