Mark your calendars for the OHIO Gathering at Kokosing Valley Camp and Canoe in Millwood, Ohio
August 9 thru 11,  2019

http://kokosingvalley.com

We have 14 sites reserved.  Early arrivals are OK be sure to tell them you're with the Coleman group.
As the date approaches I'll need a rough headcount and a count of tents and RVs.  You can post here on this thread or PM me if you prefer.  We will again be in the "B" camp area with our Mennonite neighbors.  Remember the softball games?   No need to contact the campground for a reservation unless you're arriving early.  We had plenty of space last year.

The rate for tent camping (or those sleeping in the back of their trucks) is $7.50 per head per night.  The group rate assumes we're putting 2 tents on each site.  The sites are very large and mostly shaded.  Plenty of room for EZ ups.  RVs will be charged the regular rate of $35 per night for 2 adults and minor children.  30 amp electric and water on each site though I suggest you bring your own drinking water.

Located on the Kokosing river, the campground offers canoeing and other activities like putt putt golf, a driving range, a nice swimming pool, basketball and volleyball.

B area...

Just east of the campground is Honey Run Falls.  It's a great place to cool off on a summer afternoon.

Mark,

I am going early.  I will be in my trailer.

I will arrive on Monday Aug. 5 and stay for a week leaving on Monday Aug. 12.

I had such a good time last year staying at this beautiful campground.  A scenic part of America.

I hope someone joins me.  We could some canoeing, fishing, or visit some local attractions.

I've marked my calendar. I tried to attend last year, but at the last minute, life said not this year. I was looking forward to meeting some new faces as well as some that I've met before. I really want to finally meet Ed Erb. I've talked with him on the phone many times, but I've never been able to meet him in person. Hopefully this year will be the first of many to come.

Hi All,   The list of attendees is growing!

Birdseedoh  (great name!)  No need to reserve a spot for tents,  just find some space when you arrive and pay the camp office.  Tell them you're with the Coleman group.   Those with RVs may call the camp and reserve a specific site if you wish.  Let me know either way so I can keep those sites open until you arrive.
The group rate assumes we're putting two or three tents on a site.  RVs should expect to share real estate with tents and EZ ups.

The six sites closest to the picnic shelter are reserved for the Mennonite group.  Our group has the rest of the B area including the grass field to the east.

Wife and I previously posted back in February that we're attending so you'd have us included in your  count of people attending.  Around that time I made reservations since we had a camper with us.  The person taking that info asked if we had a preference on sites.  I knew you were kind of leaving this loose but he said others have reserved and mentioned some names.   I said OK put me down next to Sheehe and left it go at that.  I see your recent request for those who made reservations so that you leave those site open as people start arriving.  I called the campground today and learned he has me down for site 91B,  We might be there as early as Wed.   Also of special interest is that this outing is the same time as the Old Lincoln Highway garage/yard sale  which is happening on that Thursday thru the 10th.   This is an annual event and there are a million sales going on for miles on that road.  Many might what to check it out for Coleman stuff.     Looking forward to the weekend.   See you then.   John and Marge Hoyt

Mark, I plan to arrive Wednesday evening.  I’ll be bunking in Bruce’s camper, and leaving Saturday morning.  Bob Boyd and his wife are hoping to come out on Thursday or Friday and stay for a couple nights.

It was a great gathering, well attended.  The weather was fantastic, enjoyed seeing many familiar faces and meeting some new people, like Tony who came all the way from Knoxville with Quadzilla (there, I named it for you Tony 😂).

Darn, I couldn't make it.Looks like a great time. I had been hoping/planning to attend, but my wife had some health issues and we spent most of the weekend in the ER.(She's doing better now) I was hoping to find some help on repairing my 290-700 Powerhouse 1986 lantern. It flames from inside the collar. I saw a posting (I think it was here) saying the shrader valve had failed. I live very close, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Is there any repair shops near me? Thanks.

To many names to list, but thank you to all for the open hospitality. It was my first gathering, and the feeling was of a large family. I am already planning for next year and have convinced my wife that the Gettysburg event would be a good get away. Again thanks to all, and see you next year.

Sorry you couldn't make it and I hope your wife is doing well.  There are some good videos online regarding the "modern" lanterns.  Search the tech advice threads here on the forum or post there for further help with your lantern.
This video is of a similar model and shows how they come apart
