201 fuel pick-up replaced

Found a 201 last week fueled it and lighted up but after a couple of minutes it seemed to have run out of fuel so I disassemble it and fount a stress crack on the fuel pick up brass tube. Cut, drill, replaced and soldered it with a same diameter brake line steel tube

Reassembled it and light it up again and a couple of seconds later the replacement globe just cracked (I still have the original Coleman logo globe so I’m not worried about it)

 Saludos

Pablo,

This is an interesting post, thanks for the very good pictures too. I have never seen this tube failure but heard of others. The crack in the globe looks very much like one I posted about, but with mine the globe just cracked while sitting on the shelf!

I've found only one stress crack like that, on a 275 no less. I soldered mine and it works fine now but I have a NOS valve assembly here just in case.

By the way, nice find. Wish I had one.

I had the same thing on a 200.  There was a very fine crack in the tube which I easily soldered.  Couldn't figure out what the thing would always flood.  Now I know.
