My question is what is the rhyme or reason of the dates of the Coleman 200a's that have the cheese grater frames? I like them and think they're neat but can't seem to figure out which ones have them. I've have seen some dates from the early 50's that have them, others that don't. Was it just a Canadian thing? Thanks Drew

Someone posted recently about the timeline. How the first one's had the cheese grater frame, then they went to the now standard looking frame, then BACK to the cheese grater for a few years.

Someone should be along soon with firm dates for you.

It seems to me from appearance only that the cheese grater frame is more sturdily built. Am I correct on this assumption?

My 2/53 black band does not have it. So I'm assuming 50-end of 52 for the US anyhow. I believe the Canucks stuck with it much longer.

The 4-52 black band in the classifieds right now doesn't have cheese grater. See doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to me. Lol
