I almost don't even look at GPA items anymore when at garage sales, swap meets, etc... unless it is obviously something I should take a closer look at. Went to a small garage sale this morning while running errands, saw these, and made a comment that I collect them, but have too many. The seller said "Can never have too many. You can add two more for $5." Checked the glass and both intact, so I paid the man and brought them home. The 242C is crusty, but looks complete. The 200A is missing the pump. Will put them in the shed with my parts lanterns and will eventually need one or both of the globes.

if you’d like to move the 242 let me know, you can keep the globe?

Did you get fries with that?  Happy meal pricing.

Reckon the seller knew you? Or were you wearing your vest with all the OCP and gathering patches?
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

He didn't know me, but he was a Real Estate Broker, so he is good at one thing - selling stuff.

In that case, better check to see if you have your wallet, watch and phone!

Agreed. I have had many dealings with Real Estate Agents/Brokers both professionally and personally, and I find attorneys and used car salesmen to have infinitely higher integrity. The good news is the one we used when we bought our home was so corrupt that we got a $60K settlement out of the deal because of her forging closing documents. That was 24 years ago and the house was only $166K, so it was significant.

No, I didn't get fries with the deal, but I saved enough to buy some afterwards.

A deal is a deal no matter how many you have. Yup, I would have done it for the globes alone.

I sure wouldn't have passed them up. I'd go through them both and get them running again.
