Hey all! I haven't been posting a lot of my finds or fixes on here lately and have spending too much time on the facebook groups but here I wanted to share my restoration of a 500 Speedmaster. I used Evaporust to clean in the fount, burner rings and grate, removed and cleaned the check valve, valve assembly and generator, sand blasted and painted the base and burner with VHT flameproof paint and replaced the rusty hardware with brass parts as I thought it added a nice touch. I'm pleased with the results and almost afraid to use it now 😂

Beautiful! My VHT started flaking near the burner rings. Not sure if it was a prep or heat issue.

That came out pretty.  I’m always surprised how well these can clean up.

I always have time to talk motorcycles! Too bad you no longer have either your TT or XT as they are getting really hard to find! My stepdad has a 77 XT and mine is a 78, love the bike! Thanks for the love!

That is a great looking stove. But you just have to light it to celebrate it’s new lease on life. The VHT has held up well on mine albeit very light use.
