I have a 427 on the way and would love a serviceable mica globe. Always interested in tents and stoves and definately interested in a kerosene lantern. Also want more gas. I love retro camp gear but not short on anything. Always interested in tents and stoves and? I knew Linus likes likes 1920 stuff, got a couple small things from then. I will bring a few pow pows if no one tells our new Governor.

Marty, I have a chimney with two holed windows I'd give away. Two of the stoves I mentioned above will give away as they were given to me, all work.
Randy if nothing interests you, will take a couple cans of fuel.

Randy, let me know what you might be interested in as I'll give away the Sears and 426B stoves. 200A's are dated 3-56,10-63,10-66. Price free or $35 to recoup money for parts/globe on lanterns. Two of the lanterns are yard sale grade, but parts cost to get them running. One is minus the burner cap as I will keep the ceramic cap, don't have one to swap out or I'd ruin a mantle exchanging.
If any interest in the 96 founts or rare MSR MF stoves let me know or I won't bring them.

Ok, since you asked Duane. I am not a stovie! I am interested in the Sears stove, and I need a 426 sized fuel tank. I’d rather some one bought your 426b intact, but will take it for the tank if otherwise unspoken for.

I should be able to cover everyones requests for fuel. Just keep those pouring in so I know how much to bring.

Wish I could commit early but it will be a last minute determination for me.  So that makes me a definite maybe.  I thought being retired would free me up but no such luck.  More obligations and demands for my time than I imagined possible.  I don't have much to bring anyway but always like to look and enjoy the camps.   Charlie

Randy, I want fuel, about 4 gallons, so you might as bring the lot. I don’t think you will be hauling as much home this time. I have my little Jeep trailer up and running so have a little more room.

My offerings, no pic of the mica chimney. Lanterns are 3-56, 10-63, 10-66. If any interest, can bring any, if not, will save space by leaving at home. Can delete this post if it clutters up the thread Linus.
Randy, 426B tank is on the Sears. All founts, tanks are tight. Sears c/v was cleaned.

Duane, along with the mica, I would be interested in the Enders. What is the stove after it? Looks interesting. Also interested in the third 200. I like the single mantles for camping. I do have a 96 I have a love/hate relationship with. Seems like the most moody stove I have, it’s gender is obvious. Marty

Marty, after the Enders is the Homestrand Mariner, uses marine denatured alcohol, will not run on normal denatured alcohol as it is a pressurized stove. The last 200A is one of my nicer ones, got it as it was offered up here for a fund raiser for the site, will sell at a loss, not a yard sale item.
I'll bring a genuine vintage 96, they run pretty good, can go over it's habits. I have over 40 of them.
David, hope you can make it too, gonna be a large Gathering if most show up.

Duane, I would appreciate an education on the 96. I think I have it running pretty good now but it not from my repair skills, I think I kept trying stuff until something finally worked. I will bring it but I am sure it would be on it’s best behavior and light right up.

I have read some of your other posts on trying to keep the lanterns to a manageable number and I am trying to do the same. I seem to have the greatest weakest for small stoves and axes and those are everywhere in my garage in various stages of repair so I don’t need to get five hundred lanterns. I would be interested in either of the the other 200s though as I want one for a user so running good rather then looking good is more important to me. When you see my camp you will understand as I like a used/vintage look to my gear and don’t speaking in any one decade as much as just what I think is “cool” stuff from tents to stoves to cook gear. I have lots of 18th and 19th C. Hearth cooking gear also. Some repo but some antique. A friend and I do some exploration four wheeling in the high desert area so anything with no dings well eventually get some.

Marty, if you have a globe, the one lantern would be free, if not, $11, has a off color red cap Keith gave me. C/V was cleaned. We can swap lies about 96's. I'm loving my Radius 42 stoves, biggest thing about them is having a good wick, stuffed correctly.

Randy I really wouldn’t mind going but it’s a little far for me to tow my trailer for a long weekend. If I hadn’t taken time off already for Morro Bay I’d take a week off and head up.
Besides I don’t drink anymore, of course I don’t drink any less either....

AS we get closer, we should get trailer lengths for folks and # of Tent sites needed, and number of those tenters who wouldn't mind sharing a site so On Thursday the 2nd, our boots on the ground (Tom Mag), can secure the right amount of sites for us. Right now we are at 10 people from this forum. I know of others that may come up for a day or an overnight. Be good to keep the headcount current.

Joe,
Just doing my part to enable you with GPA. Forget the beer, I don't actually have any. Lie, Lie, Lie! Maybe we catch ya on one a bit further South then.

Marty,
Noted. TY!

Ron,
Well welcome and I hope you can make it. Bring what you like, and prepare for a fun time. These gatherings really are my favorite part of collecting. Overall, expect it to be  a very laid back and unpretentious group of guys who like to see things burn. You will enjoy yourself with these guys and likely want to delve deeper into the whole GPA thing after this campout. If you can't make it, we try and do 3-4 of these a year so we will be planning a summer get together while up at Lake Pillsbury. If you are there we will appreciate your input on that.

Duane + Repo pup=Got it!

As we go along, I am updating the list above. I'm sure there are mistakes. Thanks for helping me straighten those out as we go.

If anyone happens to have a decent 242/243 fount with 1947 date codes to bring...  Otherwise the 242C I got a week ago with rust cancer through the bottom gets a Canadian brass 200 fount...

If I make the gathering, I'll be there early (Wed or Thurs), with my Casita. Happy to share my site.

Outlaw, I've got 5/47 242 sitting in my ever-growing "to-do" pile. Will bring it along (complete, minus globe).

I'm thinning out my collection somewhat (thinking about selling the house), so if anyone has any special requests, sound off. I've got lots of "C's" and "D's" of all sorts ranging from "restored-and-minty" to "up-and-running" to "to-do", plus some Kamplite, Thermos, Sears, and AGM.

Also a minty 5114 with box and fluted globe (Andy: You still have 1st option on that, so pipe up if you still want it -- you can grab it on your next Costco run), and a matched pair (January 1927) of Quicklite lamps (founts, stems and burners only).

Still have the pre-USFS 427.

I am not yet sure what we will be bringing or when we will arrive. My land rover event is the week before so I may be short of vacation days and have to come friday night. If that is the case i will probably not bring the trailer. If i can come on wednesday or thursday, I will bring the trailer and the tacoma.

Ill be limiting my volume of GPA that I haul along to just the stuff I need to have for camping. Ill have some old but not prewar things to trade/sell or give away.

My hope is to spend some time exploring around the area and to help others with their repairs like we did at pinnacles.

Ed, get with Linus and Randy to get a summer Gathering place and date before school starts up again in NV. We'd like to visit with you guys or ask your wife to retire. :)
I've set aside a few gpa's to bring, trying not to get too early a start, thinking of my summer road trip quite a bit instead.
Linus, Randy, anyone else, good road in from Upper Lake for us coming from the east?

Duane,
good question.
I think you might be best taking 20 over and still coming up to Pillsbury from the west. If you want to try forest roads, I think trying to catch the M3 or M6 from the Elk Creek area would be the best choice. I suspect M10 might be closed to to last years fires. Those would put you in the general area. Might be some more map reading to do though....

For those who cant attend, think up some fall dates or mid summer dates that youll be free so we can schedule another camp before our calendars are full.

A call to the Mendocino ranger station will clarify whether M10 is open.  Unless there was fire fighting damage,  I'd expect it ot be open

M3/M6 might be closed due to snow?  Not sure if r rains have been warm enough to take the snow off the higher elevations?  (We tried to go turkey hunting up around there once and ere blocked by snow.  I think at about 5000 ft or so...)

There is a guy her in Red Bluff that has a 55 Buick that has been sitting for years I have been trying to talk him into selling it to me, its blue and white. I am bringing a tent that could be that one,s long lost cousin. coleman heritage 001.jpg

So I may be a little late to this party as I was only invited because of the projector lantern. Where is this happening?

Here ya are.

Yes, the projector lamp drew attrntion to you, but I recently scraped this category attemping to find all members in Ca and Nevada so I would have probably found you and added you in here anyways. LOL. Welcomw to the club and hope you can make the campout. See flyer for details and ask away wiith other questions. Many of the folks here have been at this site far longer than I have been and attended many more campouts.

Looks like there are plenty sites, even says dispersed camping in the cg. Pets extra, two vehicles per site, six people max. Looks like a very good turnout. Camping within the basin only. I'm headed there a day or two early, just don't know what to do with all that time, I'm gonna throw my comfort mt bike in for some recreation.
Anyone need a free 426B minus the tank? Half my stoves and lanterns are selected already and we have weeks till this. Willing to split a site, just need room for a 8x10 tent and a good tree to tie Repo to so he stays away from stuff and can't get tangled or heist a leg. I'll exercise him to keep the area clean of any surprises.
Randy, any wants I can trade for fuel? Gone thru all those I got at Plumas Eureka.

Lets see how smart Google maps can be...  I'm posting directions from several "starting points" so people can pick one and see what works for them after refining the start point:

From San Jose generally:  https://www.google.com/maps/dir/37.3408507,-121.9066936/39.443571,-122.9538067/@38.4536062,-123.7884192,8z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0

From Sacramento generally:   https://www.google.com/maps/dir/38.5786754,-121.5015785/39.443571,-122.9538067/@38.4536062,-123.7884192,8z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0

From Fresno  Generally:   https://www.google.com/maps/dir/36.7334833,-119.8017176/39.443571,-122.9538067/@36.8298904,-120.6946883,8.24z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0

From Reno generally: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/39.5259972,-119.8586118/39.443571,-122.9538067/@39.5078381,-120.5309676,8.24z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0

From Red Bluff Generally:  https://www.google.com/maps/dir/40.1576583,-122.2235134/39.443571,-122.9538067/@39.4428657,-123.3696576,8z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0

That last one from Red Bluff was interesting - It gave a couple of routes and the M6/MX forest route was 6 min shorter in time and almost half the distance, (but a LOT of miles on un-maintained  dirt roads...

I'll be taking 70 to Oroville, backroads to Colusa and Williams, saves headon traffic on 99 to Yuba City especially when we are on motorcycles.
