Well I got ANOTHER mil-spec a lady brought me 3 lanterns 2 in cases and some silk-lites all for 25.00 she said on the phone they are all the same 288s well she came by the shop with the lot and one of them is a mil-spec I was kind-a glad I have planty of 288s and this mil-spec is a real clean 1959 coleman the only rust is in the pump tube and not much Iam soaking now after that it should fire right up. it gos nice with my 1969 coleman mil-spec.

i have a 1943 milspec in the parts well it has 4 original silklites in the wax paper and stick matches I think they are original too plus I have an early agm milspec I think not certain but it does have a steel tank.

That is too nice a stove. Saw one on eBay that had a German gas mask carrier as the cans for it. I could see a GI doing that. They wanted way too much for me though.

Mike, I wish I had women bringing me Colemans. Lol

Well heres that 59 I was talking about just had to soak the pump tube in evapo-rust clean and put a new leather on the cap seal is still good fuel also good but needed a mantle and a match and here it is. from the rust in the tube it hadn't ran in many many years. now I need to find the tools and funnel.

They were a government contract shade made by Industrial Precision Products Co. specifically for the milspec lanterns. Here's another one I have in the original packing...
