The ICCC Convention is June 20 to 22 in Bozeman Montana at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. If you are thinking of attending, make reservations early as possible as Bozeman is close to Yellowstone National Park and hotels fill up quickly.

If you plan on camping, here is some information that might help you decide where to stay:

Carla and I stayed at Bear Canyon last year on our way to the convention in Huntsville. Bear Canyon is about an exit farther east than the one below, Sunrise Campground, and above the freeway but you can hear it the railroad tracks just beyond the freeway. I believe both parks allow tents. Both parks also appear to have a number of permanent residents, too. It's an older RV park and the sites are close to each other.

http://bearcanyoncampground.com/

We also drove through Sunrise  Campground.  http://www.sunriservcampground.com/Sunrise_Campground.html

It's an ok RV park but it literally borders Interstate 90 on one side next to a freeway off ramp and the entrance is across the road from the Burlington Northern Mainline. It had rained the day we were there and some of the park was a bit muddy and/or full of puddles.

There is one more option near Bozeman. Bozeman Hotsprings Campground.  https://bozemanhotsprings.co/bozeman-campground/

We visited this one last summer, also. Very nice with lots of amenities but a tent space started at $40 per night and around $80 for an RV space.

Closest to the convention option:

If you have a fully self-contained RV, the closest campground for the convention is right at the fairgrounds. You can walk a short distance to the front door. The fairground's campground is also reasonably priced at $40 per night for water, 50 amp electricity and sewer. The negative is there are no restrooms for campers and they do not allow tents. Hence, a fully self-contained RV is pretty much a requirement. Carla & I will be staying here. Reservations can be made in late April or early May.

Rainjer (Jeremy) is planning on camping at Camp Three Forks. http://www.campthreeforks.com/default.asp

It is a former KOA Campground and is 32 miles west of Bozeman and might be an option.

The host hotel is the Best Western Gran Tree Inn. A block of rooms have been set aside with a special rate. It is suggested you call the hotel directly and NOT use the Best Western 800 number. The hotel's local number is 406-587-5261. Mention the ICCC Convention for the special convention price.

For more information, you can contact the convention host at montanacolemancollector@gmail.com

Thanks for the info Murff. I really wanted to make this one but college funds are killing me. Hopefully Arizona, Texas or Colorado members land a convention 😀

In addition to the information I have provided above, there are private partys that rent out their RVs in and around Bozeman.  If you wanted to camp at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds campground, this might be an option for some.

Some of these owners will also deliver the RV so you won't have to get it to the fairgrounds.

Thanks Murff for the information. I reserved at Bear Canyon about a week ago. The web site didn't work for reservations, had to call the campground directly.

See you there!

We have reservations at the Holiday Inn Express.  A couple miles from the fair grounds but seemed like a nice hotel from the reviews.

I want to take a tour of ID, OR, not sure where else this summer or when to go. Thought some of joining ICCC to make the event. Have to manage what to do with my dog. Believe I have a couple second cousins in Bozeman.

We've got a cabin reserved at Bear Canyon CG. Worked well for my family in Huntsville last year. Looking forward to it!
It'll buff out.

Well, Paula and I have committed to go and all reservations made. I know it sounds a bit early but with a whole lot of people going to Yellowstone, we just couldn't take the chance of being shutout on flights. Staying at the Best Western (Great Rates). I researched a lot of hotel and car rental rates at this time of the year and everything is at a premium. See y'all there.

Just made our reservation at the Best Western. FYI the convention code is ICCC0619. It took her a bit to find the convention and the code might make it easier for anyone else who calls.

Just made reservations at the Best Western in the second block of rooms (Wed to Sunday).  The first block of rooms was full at the hotel.

Since this is a busy time of year in Bozeman, better reserve soon.  You snooze and you lose.

We are actually arriving on Sunday.  We are going to Yellowstone for a few days before the convention.  We are getting older now, and want to see the national park as it is so close to Bozeman.  We are staying in a motel near Yellowstone's West gate for a few days, then coming back to Bozeman.

We will be attending the picnic at Darcy's and Dwayne's.

Has anyone had problems paying by paypal? I just had my paypal payment refunded to me because it wasn't claimed. I sent Doug an email but haven't heard back. Is it the convention host that collects the money or the club on their behalf?

The PayPal on the website goes direct to ICCC and John would see it. I don't know enough about the way a merchant 'claims' a payment or it get rejected to help on that front.

Did you use the ICCC website to pay, or did you use the address on the bottom of the paper registration form with the last Coleman Light?
I noticed a spelling error in the address on the paper version (the L was replaced with an I in 'intlccc') so that may be an issue.

For those folks who are happy to use electronic methods the webform and PayPal can be found here: http://intlccc.net/iccc-convention-registration/

You are CaptainFantastic alright! I checked paypal and it was the spelling mistake you pointed out. I'll resend it to the correct address. It's funny since any other spelling mistake would likely stick out but seeing inticcc didn't stand out since ICCC makes some sense.

International Coleman Collectors Club on the web.  You can join as a member and print out a registration form for the convention in Bozeman MT.

Display tables are free this year.  There is a small charge for sales tables.

I hope to see you at the convention.

Hello all!

As the host of the up coming annual convention that's being he in Bozeman MT this year I'd like to remind everyone to get their registration sent in.  Remember for those arriving early that Dwayne and Darcy will be hosting an open house on Wednesday 6/19, giving everyone a chance to see their awesome collection.  They will also be providing a great dinner (must be paid for on registration).  It will surely be a fun evening for everyone.  The following  two and a half days will be the convention with plenty of seminars given by our most knowledgeable members as well as sales and display tables to keep everyone busy.

For those interested in planning extra time and exploring out of town there's plenty to do ranging from hiking our local trails to fly fishing in our rivers to traveling down to Yellowstone National Park.  If you want to stay closer, we have a great museum, as well as shopping in our historic downtown, to a farmers market that will be at the fairgrounds Saturday morning.  There's an abundance of opportunities for everyone to take part in.

If you're (or you know someone) on the fence about coming what could be more fun than catching up with old friends that you rarely get to see as well as making new friends with the same interests that we all have in common?   If I can answer any questions or help in anyway don't hesitate to contact me.  Lets make this convention a great one!  Circle the dates (6/20 - 6/22) on your calendar and take part in your convention!  See you in Bozeman!

When the new Coleman Light arrives in your mailbox please make certain to read convention host Doug's article.....hint...special light up at our early arrivals open house on Wed evening.   Thank-you to those who have gotten their registration in already.  We are meeting with the Pitmaster who will be providing our meal this week.  He buys supplies two weeks ahead of events and that is why we need to have your registration to Doug by June 4th and know if you are coming.   Please mail it so it arrives by the 4th.  We want to make certain everyone will be well fed and have a great time at our place.  We will have a party tent, tables and chairs for people to hang out and visit.

We ask visitors to park nicely for our neighbors.  This is Montana and large pick-ups, cargo and horse trailers are common on our road.  Please park a respectful distance from driveways and avoid the road edge ditch.  Our road widens just past our house and there is a side street (Lupine) that is more level, wider, and flat edges.  We encourage folks to park past us and walk back.  Weather dependent we may have some addition parking - we will be working on it as it gets closer.  If you are on Facebook we have a D&D LanternWorks page, under Notes we have posted additional info about the area.   We can be contacted via our FB page.   We are looking forward to seeing everyone.
