This thread has been trimmed of all comments, now just for questions where you maybe having a problem doing things in the new form, lots of questions answered already.

Note added:  Much of the layout is now set and ready to get used to and use, there are some small things that need to be addressed that will be done shortly. Murff now has a new pinned thread about which new features members would like to see and use. Thank you all for your patience.

Thanks from the CCF team.

To find recent posts, new posts, it is all new but looks very nice, you just click "Topics" as shown in the snip, On the main page if you click topics it will show three choices, Latest New and Top for all of the categories, when in like 'Just Bull" it will give the same for just that on category.

You will notice the row showing members online is gone, but you can still see who is online, scroll down and see where each person is online from, country flag etc. We hope to have the row display again soon, but you can see the information by clicking the link
Ok, fixing somethings some may have noticed, one is the CSS, Cascading style sheets, font colors, will look at font sizes next.
Murff will open a new thread about new features soon, what you might enjoy using and those not so much, lol.  Ed

I just re-did my avatar, 150x150 px, and it fits perfectly in the square since it was a square in the first place. Actually it seems to be much more detailed now. If you have a Mac, then taking a JPG and resizing it using the Preview app is very simple, then you export to a new file and upload it.

People's monitor sizes vary a lot, if you have a big monitor and and use your browser window to fill the entire monitor there will be excess on the sides. We may be able to get this auto sized, we used to do it by specifying the tables/spans with a percentage rather than size as is being used right now. Here is how my browser displays but then I do not fill the screen with the browser window. I had to reduce this picture from 1250 pixels for it to fit, sized at 900 pixels below.  Ed

Here is a trick to increase both the font size and whatever is contained it the browser - this works in Windows, Firfox and some other browsers, I am guessing it can be done in Linux and Apple OS too, but I am not sure what the controls are in those OS. while looking in your browser with the mouse pointer somewhere, anyway in the browser hold the Ctrl key down and tap your + key in the upper right of your key board, it will quickly maginfy the display. Give it try and see how you like it, just use Ctrl & - to return to normal size. See below  Ed

It has been so long ago since I started HTML scripting I sometimes forget how strange it can be to people who don't use or do it all the time, I should have remembered the little trick above and mentioned it earlier, mea culpa.

We are looking at the order of the posts, we and others have noticed it too. Explain more on not being able to post pics or edit your own posts, pics may have to be downsized, and I have edited several of my own postings, so not sure why you are unable to do yours, in this thread a lot of stuff that is new has been addressed, maybe you will find an answer in one of those posts. Try putting your mouse pointer over the upper right corner of your own post, it should show a box and drop down arrow, edit is one option.

Mike, I think the clock means that the last post in that thread you viewed was 17 hrs ago, 2 days ago, 2 hrs ago, etc. but they are in order of the most recent posts, even though you haven’t viewed everything in the thread. Does that make sense?

To Post pictures using the Mobile Version on the CCF:

Download a photo resizing app from the Play Store. I use this one:

Just a note for the moderators. I personally don't like change, but after reading a lot of these posts, I realize that the change was necessary. It will definitely take some time to work the bugs out and for all of us to get used to the new forum. I just want to thank you guys for all that you do behind the scenes to make this forum possible and keep it going as smoothly as it can. Without this forum, there are so many of us that would not have the knowledge or the friendships that we have. Some people are upset about the changes, but they'll just have to understand and work with you as I will to get through this tough time. It will become home for all of us again soon, and we'll think back and realize that you guys did what had to be done to keep this awesome place in existence. Thank you again guys for all of the hard work.

I've got a couple of little nit-picky things that if there is time, could possibly be addressed.

1. This info on everyone's profile page is very cluttered.  IE: "Requred: full name (FIRST AND LAST), location: state & city is required. (outside USA, country/city) Confirm (Please Check)"  I understand for people who are signing up the extra info is needed but do we really need to see it on every profile page?

profile info.jpg

On the menu drop-down, I'd like to hover over the ">Categories" option and then have a second drop-down to choose what category to go to instead of having to click through to the categories page to chose my category.

For you guys using an Android mobile device, I recommend an app called: QReduce Lite: Reduce photo size in kb & mb

Its very simple to use. Just open the app, choose a photo, input what size you want the image resized to (in our case, I choose 191kb), and press go. It outputs the resized image into a folder called QReduceLite.

The above is particularly true of longtime members. This check box wasn't there when we first started the forum with the providers. But with the addition of this checkbox, if an edit is made to one's profile, it needs to be checked.

Ok so I am back at work and have logged in with my MacBook Air. The page looks great, easy to read, I like it. The problem is that on my PC at home with its 23 inch screen the page is only using approx half the width of the screen (the middle half)  and looks all wrong to me. Is there a setting that I need to adjust to get it looking right. Thanks

I will look closer at that, one thing I noticed was as I resize my browser window horizontally, the green sides increase and then suddenly as it gets wider the center span pops and is much wider again, like it goes from 800 pixels, to 1024 wide and so on, not a smooth transition. There is a point where the center span doesn't increase and at full monitor screen there is a good bit of green, but we will be asking them about it. Maybe experiment with the width of the browser window and see if yours looks better too.
