+1 They work good.  Many of us here got them when they became available so cheaply on ebay a few years ago.   If your phone supports USB OTG (On the Go), your phone may work with it.  There are apps you can download to check your phone's capabilities in this regard.

To use the camera with your phone, assuming Android, you will need the adapter.  Most sellers include the adapters so you can use these cameras on a PC or phone, but some don't.   Note that detail when looking.

Use the search area for more information. It has been discussed many times in the past.

I use it all the time. 7mm, also good to view gun rifling. Wrap a solid wire around the probe so it is easier to aim the camera.

Steve,

If you want to use it with your phone, and have an Android phone (not Apple), get the app OTG View.  On my phone, as soon as I plug in the camera, the app automatically starts up.

I have one that I use with my laptop and desktop PCs.  Should work with most webcam software.  I use a program called Cheese in Linux.  No problems whatsoever.  Sometime you need a driver in Windows (a friend did).

I've bought three of these for use in fettling and for inspecting the inside of things around the brewery. The resolution is pretty poor--barely useable, really. The first I bought just for GPA fettles, and was too short for inspecting hoses and pipes, so I got a longer one. The cable was too flimsy to be useful, so I taped some solid 12ga copper sire to it. Now it was too bulky to fit into a 242 bung and some of the smaller brewery fittings I wanted to inspect. So I bought a third one, 15' long with a cable that's reinforced so you can bend it to a shape and it'll stay there. It works OK, aside from the crappy resolution.

The interesting thing is that these were three different brands, but the actual camera appears to be the same. Some have better LED lights/light adjustment, and some come with attachments like a 45 degree mirror for looking at the sides of stuff. I use that attachment a lot for inspecting hoses and pipes.

These are handy enough that I'm getting tempted to lay out some serious cash and get a high-resolution endoscope. These cheap ones are OK for seeing how much rust there is in a fount, but not enough resolution to inspect welds in stainless brewery piping.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

I bought a nice one a few years ago and didn't realize how much I would use it...mine is a hand held unit with a flexible but stable cable that can be bent all sorts of ways.  I use it a lot in the hobby  and a lot more in the business.

I have never used one of those cheapy units.

Fantastic product, comes with Windows-compatible sw, once you have seen the inside of a fount you will never go back.

Was $13.50 delivered.

Some people come home from a GPA gathering with less stuff than they left home with.  Apparently I am not one of those people...

My wife got me one for xmas. Very easy to use. Plugged in camera and downloaded the app and was ready to go in less than 5 mins. Mine did not require any adapters. The cord is semi-ridgid and can be bent to the shape needed. Happy with it so far. Click image for larger version - Name: 20190515_134611-800x450.jpg, Views: 46, Size: 80.70 KB
