PLEASE SEE POST #3 FOR DINNER PRE-PAY OPTIONS!

As promised, here is the official ECCCCXI information page. The other "save the date" page has been deleted.

Please read all info below, carefully!

Please join us for the East Coast Coleman Collectors Club Convention #11.

The 11th Annual ECCCCC will be held June 4th-9th, 2019 in Gettysburg, PA.
Location is the Artillery Ridge Campground, 610 Taneytown Rd.,Gettysburg, PA.

You can attend for the entire event, any part of it or extend your stay longer.

I have reserved a group tenting area for us.
RV sites with hookups are available for those with trailers and rigs.
Cabins and trailers are available for those who prefer more comfort.

Group shared sites;
Only $8.50 per person per night in the tenting group area! Restrooms are nearby.
You share your site in this area. You do not get a full site for $8.50! It's a group area.
Please note: Your vehicle cannot stay on site in the group tenting area.
You must park in a nearby parking area. If you require your vehicle on site, please book a regular RV nearby site.

Also, you will not have your own picnic table in the group area. All picnic tables will be lined up in the center for our group dinners.
Please bring a folding table for your displays, sales or fettling.

Artillery Ridge Campground has many amenities for us, including;
A new, heated pool
A stocked fishing pond
Horseback tours of the battlefields
and much more!

Gettysburg has many historical attractions to visit,
plus, for the spouses, shopping galore!

Check out the campground;

http://www.artilleryridge.com/campground-map.html

We will be tenting in the group area sites #201 through 225.

The tent sites are about 30' x 30'. We need to get
2 - 3 tents on each site, so the campground makes
a few bucks on the great rate they are giving us.

If you like to hit the hay early or like a quiet experience, I'd recommend sites 219-225.

Note; Please avoid sites 203, 208 and 214. They get very soggy if it rains.

You are responsible for finding a buddy to share a site
with. Please post below if you need a site partner. This is for tent group area only.

RV info:

W/E sites:

Those with small RVs or pop up trailers, please
use sites 35-40 (w/e) or nearby sites.

W/E/S sites:
Anybody with a large RV and/or requiring w/e/s, please use sites 41-46 or 304, 305, 306.

Cabins:
Several cabins with various levels of amenities are available.

For RV and cabin rates, check the web site.
RV'ers: mention Coleman group when booking for a 10% discount.
No discount for tent group area.

This should be our biggest and best East Coast gathering ever!

PS- There are plenty of hotels nearby for the non-camping folk.
Also, Hershey Park resort is less than an hour away, a fun day
for the family.

Please join us for the E.C.C.C.C. XI !

The East Coast Coleman Collectors Club is an informal association, not affiliated with any other Coleman clubs or Coleman Corporation.
No membership is required to attend. All are welcome!

Nightly Group Dinners- We eat "family style" every night. Participation is recommended but not required. The great, master barbecue Chef Jon B. will once again be cooking up his delicious beef and pork dinners. As in the past, we will have a group dinner in the center of "Coleman Village". The picnic tables will be lined up in a long row. Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share.  Please see post # 3 for important dinner pre-pay information!

Coleman Outlet- Kevin B. has graciously agreed bring the Lancaster Coleman Outlet to us, once again! Store manager Kevin and his crew will be on site with a truck load of Coleman goodies at great prices. Note: On Thursday only, a limit of three items each per person will be enforced (worked well last year, fair for all).

We were the first gathering or convention to have a Coleman Outlet come to us and we are thrilled to have them back again!

Sales tables and display tables are encouraged!
Please bring your own tables.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Day visitors are welcome. Please check in at the campground office and pay the visitors fee.

HOTEL:
We do not have an official hotel, but several are located within a mile of the campground.
Please search the Internet to find a hotel within your price range

Nearby attractions for the family include;
Hershey Park and Chocolate World, 1 hour away.
http://www.hersheypark.com/

Lancaster County Amish Country, Leacock Coleman and a genuine Coleman Outlet store, 1 hour away.

Coleman Outlet is at Rockvale Outlets in Lancaster, PA
http://www.rockvaleoutletslancaster.com/general-information/

York, PA; Harley-Davidson Museum and factory tour. 30 minutes away

Historic Gettysburg and the battlefields, minutes away.

IMPORTANT DINNER INFORMATION:

Marge and John Hoyt have graciously volunteered to collect the money necessary to fund Jon B. and his delicious smoked meats. There is a nice discount if you prepay before May 10th! This way, Jon can get a good idea of how many pounds of supplies he will need. As usual, we will eat family style each night, with all our picnic tables lined up in the center of our group area. It's a great way to meet all of our members. Participation is voluntary, of course.

Jon provides the meat, chicken and pork dishes, but we all need to provide side dishes and salads. Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert for twelve at least one night!
Once again Jon Bushaw will be providing us with his delicious smoked and grilled meats.  This year we are trying to help him have a better idea of how many people to shop and cook for at each evenings meal.
    • DINNER PACKAGE includes  dinner for  - Wed, Th, Fri, and Sat., a total of 4 meals.  The cost is $30.00  before May 10,  and $36.00 after May 10th

Anyone received a letter from ARC yet? I called today to check on my reservation (they hadn't taken payment from my account yet) and was told they sent out letters to everyone because they are under new ownership and the rates have went up. Cabin went from $72 to $109 per night.

Just curious if everyone else was aware.

Update: I'll be camping offsite at KOA Gettysburg, about 15 minutes away but, I'll be there Friday and Saturday for the festivities.

Good luck guys, they seemed like they could care less. My thought is if I reserve a spot a month ago for $72/ might I shouldn't get a letter a month later saying it's jumped to $109/ night. Letter talked about customer service being a priority but, think they missed the mark on this issue.

I understand business, and costs, etc but, they should have honored the price on previous reservations in my opinion.

Oh well. KOA had a 2 room cabin for less than ARCs 1 room so, I'll be at KOA if nothing other than principal

Justin.

At ease! I just spoke to Glenda at the ARC. Tenters in our group area will continue to pay $8.50 per person, per night. That is a great deal and the best way to conserve your hard earned money.
Make sure you mention at reservation time that you are with the Coleman group, or you will not get this rate!

RV and cabin sites did increase. I think it is an improper business practice to do this, but I'm not sure there is anything legally we can do.
The good news is; ARC is going to give us a 10% off discount on RV sites.

Water and electric sites went from $55 to $59 per night, minus the 10 percent discount, will be $53.10 per night.

Water, electric, sewer sites went from $60 to $69 per night, minus the discount, will be $62.10 per night.

Cabins went up quite a bit higher. A ridiculous increase, in my opinion. My advice is to buy a tent and tent camp. You'll save a bunch of dough.

Mention the East Coast Coleman Club at reservation time to get our discounted rates.

I received a letter showing the new rates, but when I called, they confirmed $8.50/person for tent camping instead of $55, as the letter stated.

I called this morning.

The new rates match the rates at their sister campground.

The increased rates are being used for improvement at the campground.

I have no argument with the increase, as I feel updates are needed.

This campground is prime real estate, as it is part of the battlefield.  It is with in walking distance of the battlefield and NPS Visitor's Center.

The invoice that was sent does not need to be paid until your arrival.  Only a deposit needs to be paid.

I don't have a problem with the increase, I just think it's bad business to price something, take a card number for a deposit, then change pricing after the fact. If I price custom globes delivered to the show for $40, then after you make a deposit I show up and say "now they are $60" because I needed to upgrade equipment that's not good business.

If it had been $107 when I called OK, if they had said "we are currently in talks to be bought out or we are switching hands March 1st, call back" that's OK but, to change after we had a quote and an agreement to pay that price, that is wrong, No matter how they slice it.

Maybe I'm overthinking it, Maybe I'm just stubborn, I don't know.

Either way, I'll see you guys/gals there. I'll just pay the daily entry fee for my bunch.

Also note that the Rv sites receive a 10% discount but you must mention you're part of the Coleman gathering.  No one likes price raises, but it is a reasonable one and the group discount is still being honored.

Hi all. Reminder: You have just 30 days to save by pre-ordering your BBQ dinner! Please see post #3 for info on how to prepay Jon through the Hoyts. Simple as PayPal or a check in the mail.

This will save you some bucks and let Jon have a head count so he can order his beef, meat and pork products.

Thank you!

Great, Bill. Side dish doesn't have to be anything fancy! Jon provides plenty of meat, so, maybe a pasta or potato salad, a pan of bread, a vegetable dish or dare I say, a green salad?

I will make a big pot of baked beans every night.

When we have the evening light-up, we will have some sonic repercussions or maybe an actual explosion.

I hope Gasman64 brings his blow torch, the one that he uses to light his cigars.

I got confirmation yesterday that Aaron King, owner of H.C. Lanterns, and Sam Blank, former owner of Peerless Mantles (Philippines) will be attending!  They plan to arrive early Friday and leave Saturday late afternoon.  Aaron will put together some discount pricing for his products.  When he does, I'll post it here.  This will be a great opportunity to get one of his beastly lanterns at a discount, plus save shipping and be able to talk to the guy that actually makes them.  Sam now operates Peerless Distribution in the Lancaster, PA area and hopefully will bring mantles to offer at a discount.  I still need to confirm that with him.  Yet another great reason to attend ECCC XI.

Wow! That would be like meeting W.C. Coleman (to some degree) and having him sign a lantern!

PS- I met Aaron last year at his factory. What an amazing and kind man! You will all want to meet him. Start saving up now for an H.C. lantern, the best and brightest lantern that is currently being manufactured.
