Hello!
I am so happy to find this site and be here!
I have been collecting for about 13 or 14 years.

First lantern I found was a 202 with the original box dated May 1955 (55 5)...and it been down hill ever since.

I really don't know how much stuff I have but I just scored on a huge lot of racking for my garage and soon everything will be on a shelf. The really good stuff I have in the house for climate control.

What I collect is anything Coleman or Camping items. Lanterns, Stoves, Cooler, Tents, Ovens, Funnels, Mantles...You know what I mean. The more rare the better. lol

Thank you all and I am still checking out this site and will be posting here and there.

Here are a few pictures of the visible stuff in the garage.

Great stuff you've got hanging around there.  Saw those handy-pails too.  Very nice.  I've never seen one other than on Terry Marsh's site.  Welcome to the forum!

Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome.

Like I said, I really don't know what I have as in inventory wise. The pictures I posted are only what you can see in my garage when you walk in. The floor of the garage has more. But with more lanterns, tents, cooler, stove, etc, the bulky items.

Inside my house I keep the really good stuff. Mint items and the highly collectable.

I was collecting Coleman when Coleman was not cool...

My girl just asked what kinda website I am looking at. I told her "It about people that collect Coleman stuff like me." She said " Oh, there are more freaks like you out there that have their own website?" I just laughed and said " Yeah, just like your Scrap Book website." Hey, everybody collects something

So I am going to keep this thread as my collection thread and post items as time permits.

The condition of this lantern is "As Found." Meaning I did nothing to the lantern but clean it up a little. Gotta love that. I think it was probably used once or twice.
Even had the original wax cardboard inserts in the box.

Found it about 7 or 8...oh hell, maybe 10 years ago in a basement of an old home in NE Portland.

Aye carumba! The bottom of the fount on that 228D is a work of art. Nice eclectic range of stuff. How about a little photo essay of the one burner stoves...especially the ones in those little silver cans!

So this is the first lantern I ever found...This is where it began, or should I say, ended.  lol

Garage sale find many years ago.
With a bunch of Tupperware that my ex bought I paid $7 for the whole lot.

How can you not recognize the craftsmanship in the 202? Or any era Coleman lantern.

I got it home and kept looking at it, the detail, the nickle plating, enamel. I was amazed. I don't remember what I bought next. Things of the Coleman nature started to appear in my garage.

This lantern is "As Found"  I just cleaned it up a little. I have the original box somewhere, I just could not find it for the pictures. When I do, I will post it.

awesome collection dude!!

I know what you mean people would give me stuff because they knew i went camping. lanterns, stoves and heaters and used them on rotation, killed a couple nice metal Coleman coolers but replaced them since.  Nice having that early start, i just found this site too.

I have never seen a globe with a hole in it. I willguess that it is to stick the match thru to light the lantern.

Anyone know how rare this is? I don't recall Marsh's site having any holy globes.

Cooler, you have some great lanterns there to be proud of. I think the small one in the wood box is a trip. handle tucks away in its own slot.  The  AS FOUND one might be my favorite.
