Seeing as how I've heard from several people that they would want to come to my local Scout Camp for a small gathering, I went ahead and checked the reservation calendar. The Dining Hall and associated pavilion doesn't get rented once it's winterized, so that would be an ideal place, available almost any time (barring district/council/staff events). I imagine the best way to do it would be an afternoon/evening gathering on a Saturday. For anyone coming from farther afield and needing to stay the night, there is a nice hotel, Chautauqua Suites, right next door (There's a bar in there too!); or, if you prefer to camp, there is a cabin that rarely gets rented that holds up to eight.

All that said, I want your help choosing a date.

The easiest to arrange would be the weekend of December 22nd. Nothing booked as of when I write this.

The weekend of the fourteenth is another possibility. The very end of hunting season here, unlikely to have campers.

The weekend of the 29th is the Staff reunion and Christmas party, BUT: I think it would be cool to come in a couple days later and light up the New Year.

I would also like someone to spread word on the local Facebook groups, as I have no presence there.

I look forward to hearing from all of you...

You can count me in. I’ll check with my handler/scheduler to see which Saturday I have free.

Looking for 6-56 and 6-58 Birthday lanterns.
There's been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about.

I think all of those dates work for me.  That would be fun to meet up with whomever can make it.  Weather permitting, of course ... that's serious lake effect snow country!

Of course, I'm open to doing this more than once. If the new year rolls around and people sill want to come, post here and I'll see what we can do!

I may be able to go depending upon which date you pick and the weather. As a recent California transplant, I wouldn't want to drive that far if snow is in the forecast
