When did VW make a bay-window bus with split side doors? I'd love to have one (no, not really, done with AC).

I don't see: A lantern. A suitcase stove (or any other--built-in?). A High-Stand. A can or two of CF. How can that be camping?

I have no idea what I'd do with a skateboard where I camp.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

DO is Dutch oven. And that looks like an isobutane stove.

It's similar to the KombiLife/Hasta Alaska van. I believe that van was bought in Chile.

Cool picture!
Yea, the skateboard threw me off as well.  I would use the board for the fire and hand out the wheels to the younger ones and call them spinners!

Brazilian bus, basically they were making buses from whatever parts and stamping were available. They call them 14 windows.

Nope.

I actually see very little there that I carry for camping. The 5-gal jug, the spare tire (but that isn't camping-specific, now is it?), jack and a couple of tables would be it.

My kit includes, obviously, a couple of lanterns (at least), a 3-burner stove and enough equipment to outfit a small kitchen, in addition to my field gear and a tool kit sufficient to repair almost anything that could break down in the back country. Two coolers-a 36 qt. for beverages and a 52 qt for food, not that silly little picnic cooler. That set-up looks to me like that of someone who's never far from a store, restaurant or motel.

Yeah, no shovel, no fire extinguisher, no TP visible. You wouldn't be allowed to camp in dispersed campsites in our National Forests without the shovel, fire X and at least 5 gal of water.

I don't see any fire equipment there at all--no axe, hatchet, chainsaw, etc. How ya gonna make a cheerful campfire on a drizzly evening? Besides, no awning/tarp of any kind to get out of the drizzle. Sitting out a rainstorm in the van can get pretty miserable.

Here is my "Sherlocking" of these campers: A man, a woman, an early teen boy (skateboard). They camp where there are roads.  They camp at places they can eat out (cooler size).  She is small judging on her backpack next to his. She likes clothes based on her suitcase. They sleep in the van. No campfire. Only one drinks coffee, and it appears to be espresso.  They are probably, nature lovers.  He has a beard (no Dopp kit).  The bike locks show they do not trust other campers.  This guy knows how to use tools and level the van with the scissor jack.  First aid kit is decent sized.  What is with the purple funnel and clear plastic hose?  Is that a beer shotgun?

It's sitting next to a bottle of some kind of oil. Leaky transaxle? Difficult to access oil filler?

After spending a lot of time travelling in a bus you find out what is necessary for a camping trip and what is just crap that takes up space. My supplies has been refined over years of experience.

Been there, forgot to pack my bus depot awning and spent an evening and night stuck in the bus with a dog and not much breeze. The stank was quite powerful after 12 hours of rain. On another necessity note I dont see a piss jug in their supplies.
