I found this about a month ago in a junk shop stacked in with all the other green suitcases. I'm not a big suitcase stove collector. Just a few off-brand ones and a couple of green users for camp. Couldn't pass up the Gold Bond though. Date stamp on the case is 10/73. Dates on the tank brackets - 8/73 & 6/73

It was really dirty. Barn dirt and dust plus old sticky food splattered throughout. Almost like old barbecue sauce that has been there for years. I started with Simple Green and Dawn. Next Easy Off on the grate, burners and heat shield. I used a decal glue solvent to get the crud off of all the painted surfaces. Lot's of elbow grease. Then I waxed everything with Mothers. It's got good paint and a couple of small dings in the sheet metal.
I flushed the tank and oiled the pump leather and it took right off.

I'm not a suitcase guy or gold bond either but I would take that one. Great score. Looks like it burns good.

Steve, that is a nice one! Never seen a gold bond lantern or stove in the wild. Closet thing I've seen is this.

You rock Steve!! Catch of the month for sure.

Not a GB horder here but I would've snatched that one up too just because it's a 413. And those dates on the tank brackets, what the-?

No, I don’t. I try to remember to but I put it up on the bench and then next thing it’s all apart.

I had another 413 with two different dates on the tank brackets. They must have just kept dumping the brackets into a parts bin on the assembly line with all different dates.
