I want to replace the 3 piece cap "O" ring in my 530 stove.A guy on E bay has "O" rings but he says they are a difference in size and don't fit the 500 series of stoves. Is there a large and small size and then i got on a Old Coleman website that says the 3 piece caps are for display only. What gives?

The gasket on the 530 is the same as on the three piece caps used on 200A's, 220's, 288's, etc. The 242's are smaller, and the one piece caps have a larger, thicker gasket. The three piece caps are perfectly safe unless you go taking off the caps when the lantern or stove is burning.

There are a couple different sizes of the cap gaskets but yours takes the standard one.  Part # 118B1361

Totally safe for operation, IMO, as long as the gasket is sound and you don't take it off when running. If you do that, well, nothing could keep you safe.

Use a torch to burn the old one off (after taking the 3 piece cap apart). It makes it so much easier to get the old one out.
